If the light is on for short periods of time ( <5 minutes) it will have no affect on the plant. If it is on for a while, say a couple of hours, then not only will it affect the flower cycle, but it will also affect yield because the plant will be wasting energy trying to turn towards the new source of light.

I KNEW I was gonna get some shit for that last post. Get a sense of humor dude. lol

I'm not trying to start a "flame" war here Chitown, but I'm gonna call YOUR bluff. How do you know this? What kind of research/data do you have to back this up? A bunch of dudes regurgitating the same rhetoric over and over does not make something true.

Plants are not like humans. They don't sense a light source and immediately turn to look at it. Obviousely plants do not have the muscular structure that you or I do. Their movements are all controlled hormonally. If a plant senses a new light source it begins a complex hormonal sequence that tells certain cells to elongate and others to more or less contract in order to turn towards the light.

If any light at all negatively affects plants then where are the negative affects of the full moon? The reflection of city lights on the clouds? Vehicle headlights?

In my first post I stated that prolonged light WILL have negative affects. A quick look at the plants with a small flash light or lighting a cig will not affect the plant long enough to initiate the hormonal cycle. Think about it logically and I think you will agree.
