Dissapointed with the potency of my bud

hi, I just recently finished growing my first plant. I clipped off a few fresh buds and let them dry for 2 fulls days. I dried them by laying them on a surface next a space heater and letting the warm air gently hit them. after that I smoked and the weed is not very potent, it barely got me high its almost as if its not even weed its very dissapointing. I got the seed I used from a good seed bank so im sure there is nothing wrong with the seed itself. I read numerous tutorials and tried to make sure I grew my plant the right way so I am confused as to why my weed is such poor potency. I only clipped off a few buds from my plant and so there are still some left on the plant is there any advanced harvest methods or tips I can use to increase the potency of what is left on my tree? should I dry it another way or let it dry longer? Here is a picture of what a bud from my plant looks like let me know if it looks okay.

hey dude the reason IMO is ur bud got seeded early and used its energy to make seeds rather then buds and producin thc,resin, etc sry to say but ur bud looks like schwag

not only that but you cant dry that shit with hot air it bursts the thc rich trichomes right up... without that you cant get the "high" you are looking for my friend.

my church at 6wks is premature but i test a popcorn bud and that shit had me lit for like 30mins plus that was quik dryed sittin on top of my hps. c the weed doesnt even have any noticeable trichsi still think ur prblm is that it prbly got seeded early

yes ... but like the guy above me said if you got seeds in the bud then the buds are really done just let them mature all the way and keep the seeds from inside the bud ... you can try round two and this time you will have more promising results i assure you ... but yeah man marijuana should be flowered 8 weeks usually ... some strains are a little shorter most are a week or two longer ... let the plant mature ... you will notice the thc crystals go from clear to cloudy to amber in color try taking the whole plant before all the crystals on the buds turn amber ... you will need a magnafying glass or a jewelers cup to do this .

next time use fem seeds. Go with an indica dominant. Veg it for 1 month or until it's like 16" tall & then switch to flowering & in 8 weeks from when you started flowering you'll have the sticky icky.

If I were you I'd let the rest of your plant flower longer.

yeah I noticed that coloration idk why its like that, after I dried that bud it looked like that. what do you think is the cause?

kinda looks like mold or something but it also see wierd looking hairs like not from the bud but from like a cat or maybe that is cotton of some sort lol im really fucken baked so thats a trip... yyeah sorrry to hear about your problems... we all been there before ... well not all of us but most of us... just do you research before you jump into it. You may be very suprised what you could learn to help you along the way... most people are too proud to take advice from anyone when it comes to "their" grow... but thats why we are all on here to help each other. Stay high man and good luck with the next round... just be patient it will come

You never answered what strain it was, if you bought the seed like you said then you should know what strain. You definitely got seeded and if seeded early in flower then your plant did not have time to produce trichs as mentioned. The strain could also be a weak one to begin with and this is why people are asking what strain. White widow is a stain that is very high in THC and lots of trichs, so good basically even picked early normally is nice smoke. dont get discouraged just keep at it

Might wanna cure it for a week or so before you rate it so low. Curing brings out the flavor AND the potency.

that should be some good smoke it must be the pollination then you must have been pollinated early in flower period and the plant probably stopped growing the flowers and pumping out thc as it was concentrating on seed production and basically that plant is good for hash but not that great for smoking and even letting it finish will not help much as its worried more about the seeds than thc, game over this time start another plant asap

Your buds should [hang dry]/[bag]/[jar] for 4 weeks to gain good potency. There are few psycoactive cannaboids in your bud after two days, the bud is just dry.

To decarboxylize your THCA for immediate use - bake the bud at 106 Celcius for 15 minutes longer than it takes to dry. I put mine in for an even hour on the dial because I'm lazy. You will need to either: vaporize the bud; smoke it in a pipe; rehydrate the bud for joints; make cannabutter.

The vapor will still be harsh, some of the flavor will be baked out, but you will have better potency.

Use an oven thermometer!

I've grown sisters side by side from the same seed pack, same nutes, water, air, light - and they can be totally different. As well, all breeders versions of a strain are not created equally - buy the breeder not the strain.

We'd have to know more about your set up but I'd look at Overdrive and Kool Bloom, two supplements that I've had great success with. But at this point don't expect great changes, you're not going to get buds that look like they've been dripped in sugar. Growing is a learning process, be happy that you got such great looking buds, maximize your potency, and move to your next grow.

What's your set up? Lights, nutes, supplements, water (tap, RO, let the water sit, use out of tap), air circulation, etc.

Super Skunk - what breeder?

This is probably the most important thing for you to do now - get a hand microscope to check out your trichomes. If you do this you may improve your bud, maximize the potency.

If you want to use the bud in:

1 hour: bake at 106C - not great but not bad.
7 days: Water cure - good for cooking but bland, I'd rather vape microwaved fresh cut.
4 weeks: hang/bag/jar - nothing is better except a 6 week cure. Soo smooth, potent, flavor.

pay special attention that when to harvest cannabis chart above. and you should be good. Next time take away the pollinating males or herms that seeded your bud for good sensimilla.
