Food-Safe Alkaloid Extraction?

It uses all food-safe ingredients:
-food grade d-limonene
-edible calcium hydroxide (hydrated lime)
-vinegar
-water

Nasty solvents have kept me away from alkaloid extractions but with this tek now available I may have to give it a go...

ANY THOUGHTS???

That looks pretty sick, although personally, I would go with the "Procedure for Pure white mescaline HCl from cactus using d-limonene" extraction.. but that's just me. Anyways +rep nice find!

I have done it with fantastic results, I am actually going hiking with my results this tuesday its going to be great. The tough part about this tek is getting the base mixture and limonene to separate and the fact that limonene is expensive. Do it.

Don't get me wrong, the food-safe tek is amazing! I would just rather have the more purified powder/crystal form of Mescaline HCl. Either way is pretty sick.

I don't see why this isn't booming! I mean sure, one can do the extraction with other solvents (but who has access to things like benzene?). This is an amazing couple of extracts that can be done at home!

I have some pedro ive been growing for years now but never found an extraction I thought I was capable of. With this tek i will be tring this within the next few months. I will be moving from the house and will harvest the cacti then. But guys, can anyone tell me the best method of drying the peices,and do io use the whole thing?

The plant they use in this tek is San pedro to extract mescaline acetate, but I think pretty much all alkaloid extractions are the same so it could be done with other plants I just don't know if all the ratios of ingredients would be the same for the different material you would be extracting... As far as drying and how to harvest cacti goes... Slice the top of the cactus off to resemble a star shapped chunk every inch or so and do this with the whole cactus(dont forget to pot the top piece back into some soil or leave some of the bottom so your cacti will continue to grow) so you have a bunch of star shapped slices... Now carefully cut away all the needles from you chunks and cut away the white inner core... Your only going for the green flesh where the highest concentration of alkaloids are.... Now that you have a tray of green flesh just put it on a screen to dry at room temp... No point in trying to use heat and possibly lowering yeilds... So now you have dried chips... Throw em in a coffee grinder, pick up your supplies, and your ready to start this tek!

D-limonene is also really good at disolving oils and fat... I wonder if it could be used to make some sort of cannabis extract somehow?

I was unaware d-limonene was available. I remember making this stuff in organic lab ~3 years ago. Pro Tip: Do not add too much pressure to a syringe of orange oil when filling a capillary tube.

Food safe procedures are cool, especially for people that aren't experienced and/or aren't comfortable with methods using non-food-safe materials.

dlimo makes nice DMT, but it is a slower process and it has the extra step of seperating the jungle from the DMT as you end up with a pile of goo innitialy.

Well you could always just do a full spectrum alkaloid extraction by acidifying your cactus tea with lemon juice, then boil down 3 pots of tea till its just still transferable, spread out over a flat non absorbant surface and ove dry further at a low temperature, roll balls of resin, start small its potent. It is closer to the cactus tea or whole cactus experience in that the diffirent alkaloids still deploy in waves depending on what they are and the time it takes for that substance to reach its peak dosage.
