what causes leaves to look like this

these are off a mother plant i have on a drip system... been having this problem for a while now... slowly been eating away at my plant over the last month or so. I am growing out a new mother and going to chop this one down after i take a few clones off what is left, still curious to know what the cause is.

I wouldn't say its a nutrient burn only because I do not see any yellowing of the tips and the lightening of the leaves is stemming from the inside out, usually an indicator of a deficiency. There are a few questions that will help me answer your situation and the problem can be remedied relatively easy :).

#1 - how big is your plant
#2 - what is your feeding regimen and when was the last time you did a nutrient change
#3 - how active have you been cutting clones off of your mother
#4 - how much control do you have over the humidity and environmental controls?

i lowered the nutes a couple weeks ago a bit to see if it was nute burn. All that happened was all my leaves lightened up a bit in color but the problem continued, so i was pretty confident that it was not nute burn


plant is about 4 feet tall (had to chop the top, was getting to tall for the tent)

(i did some minor LST to the plant while it was growing so it has a couple minor bends in it)

being fed by 2 2gph drippers (4ghp total) for 5 minutes 3 times a day (did a rez change 2 weeks ago) botanicare nutes (changing to GH and starting lucas formula next res change)

i cut my first clones off her a few days ago

as far as control over my environment... well its winter here right now so we have the furnace on and keep that at a the same temp... but when it warms up in a few months i figure i will be able to control the environment more with an air conditioner in my grow room

i also forgot to mention that the leaves that have been affected, when i remove them from the main stem, it is soggy right at the node, enough that with barely any pulling the leaf the branch comes off

are you flowering right now?

my smart ass response to your thread was going to be; cutting them off and drying them out.

now that i see the pictures of the leafs on the plant it looks like a possible nitrogen def, thats why i asked if your flowering

neways .. no no flowering, its just a mother
