I need to know what are the best CFL light to flower with, i want to know what watt i should go with and light color?

I also would like to know what is a good way to hang, or set the CFL's up, anyone got pics of how they are doing it would love to see them.

I have a 400watt HM and a 400watt HPS but i wanna put 8 CFL's around the bottom of my 24 plants. DOing a SoG so i need a much light on the stalk as i can get.

you want the 2700k cfl's for flowering.. as to what watt, i would get the biggest actual watt that they have.. when buying cfls make sure that you look at the actual watt and not the comparison rating on them.. i got a clip on reflector from petsmart and use them to put the bulbs in.. they run like ten to twenty bucks per i think depending on what size you get..

I would get the 42w CFL 2700kand build a pvc diy fixture, the reason for pvc is because you can run the wires through the pvc back to the surge supressor. Look up a PVC pipe CFL fixturel, those 42watt CFLs are around $9.00 each. I think a pvc fixture will work about perfect for a small sog, or scrog. Lol i understand what watts are, im trying to figure out COLOR and like i posted FOR FLOWERING WHAT COLOR FOR FLOWERING, read the post b4 you just c +rep and want it

Would like to thank everyone for the help headin out to go shoping final buy is=8 42watt CFL's at 2700k warm white!!

Do mix in a 6500k Daylight or 2, it helps to fill in the spectrums, if you are using HPS for flowering.

The 42's watts are a good choice, but if you can come up with the funds, I highly recommend these bulbs:

The link I posted is about the cheapest you can get these high-powered CFLs and they're even on sale right now (only 5% discount but still). The lumen per watt ratio doesn't look as good as on lower bulbs, but you have to remember that lumens are measured 1 foot out, and that they decrease exponentially with distance. These huge bulbs do run a little hotter than a 42-watter, but you can still get foliage within an inch or two with no problems, provided you have a fan moving air around. That means you're getting exponentially more light, it's coming from a larger and far more intense source, and the light dispersion is better as well. Since you have the HPS, I would get some of these daylight spectrum high powered CFLs, get some of these reflectors and find or make somethin to clamp em to (you can just screw in s hooks to your wall if that's close enough to the plants, the clamp lights clamp on to em just fine)... Good luck man!
