14000k CFL pile of crap?

Hey all. Sorry for my bitter title but i bought this globe orignially as i thought and read a few things good about it. Now after a more in depth research it appears its only good for marine plants. I have 3 globes and all are 125w. 2700k, 6500k and the 14000k. I only have 2 holders for these and am about to start vegging maybe one or 2. Any advice people? Thanks to those that take the time to write their opinion.

the 6500k should be good for veg. the 2700k i think would be used best for flowering. you could use it for veg too but i think it would work better for flowering. dont quote me on this. thats my understanding. as for the 14000k i have no idea. good luck with the grow though. post up pics

Thats too funny. I should have expected some strange responses. Yeah i am aware that 6500k is good for veg but wasnt sure what the other one i will use will be. I was hoping that some out there had some experience with the 14000k bulbs.

I've never heard of these do you have a link or pic of it or where you got it ??? and they say mixed spectrum is the best for growing !!!

I just cant tell if its better to use a 2700k in combination. I understand that is the flowering spectrum but want to use 2 of the bulbs i already have listed.

Yes high time thats what i have found out and i guess a little disappointed. I did get recommended it by a few on this site with over a 1000 posts so figured they would know.

6400k for veg 2700k for flower, anythink away from those figures is not optimum.
It is good to mix spectrums so i suggest you do.

I appreciate your response. I do believe that 'anythink' may not be an actual word however. I do understand that those two Kelvin ratings are good for those purposes. There have obviously been studies on the 14000k range which prove to be effective which is why i posed the question. No one seems to be able to back this up and whether this range is any good so i have figured its a pile of shit, except if i want to grow coral. People do say that 2700k is shite for veg though so maybe the 14000k would be better suited to use in a combination with the 6500k. Anyway thats what i wished i had posted originally.

Yes, the wrong word was used. Well done on the correction, my hat goes off to you.

A plant will grow using pretty much any type of light and spectrum. 2700k is not the best for veg but it is not really that bad and a lot better than 14000k which is far too much blue.

If the 14000k was good for veg then it would be recommended,but it's not so Stick between 2000k and 6500k for best results.

High time was just playing around with ya. I know you know more about growing in your pinky than me. I use words that dont exist everyday and i know yours was just a typo. Yes my advice to all is to use 6500-6700k for veg and 2700k for flowering. This still may not be entirely correct but dont buy a 14000k as some would lead you to believe.

yes your right that is good for veg and you would want 2700k for flowing it has that warmer more red/yellow spectrum or better yet mix them

I have tried 25000K which is suppose to be dual spectrum of high red and blue. higher than regular 6400K and 2700K. but what i found is that they maybe higher in red and blue spectrum but to achieve this color (purple) the phosphours used in the tubes was so thick that it blocked out light output. They performed good for veg but faltered in bloom. With a lux meter i found the output was 3 times less than a comparable wattage 6400K bulb so light penatration was the problem. I think this 14000K bulb will have the same issue with poor light output but higher in blue spec light.

i read a thread on growing coral and it said to grow coral or plants with a 14000k cfl u should use with 2700k cfls alone the 14000k wasnt very good for growth just bringing out color
