The Dems and Obama Saved our Country From Financial Collapse

The simple history on this period will be that the dems badly overinterpreted Obama's win. Since taking the congress in 06 the dems have been on a non-stop drunken spending binge. They still don't get it. They think responding to protests by calling the republicans the party of no is the solution.

The democrat congress now has a 10% approval rating. They are a lame duck congress. Any attempt, however unsuccessful, to ram unpopular legislation through this lame duck congress with trickery and deceit will be severely punished.

There is simply no right way to do the wrong thing. We should take great pride in being the party of nobama.

Say what you will about the stimulus bill. And while nobody is saying it was perfect, our economy would be truly f*cked without it.

So while the Republicans were doing their macho thing by voting against the stimulus bill, Obama and the Demies were doing the right thing by preventing our country from going into another depression.

The Republicans were quite prepared to do nothing! If you think things are bad now, how about another 5-10 million out of work? That is almost certainly where we would be if it were not for Obama, the Demies, and the Stimulus.

By the way, this is not just lib talk on my behalf. Virtually ANY economist (conservative or liberal) will tell you that the stimulus spared us from financial collapse.

So, if you were lucky enough to keep your job, thank the Demies, Obama, and the Stimulus. If you were unfortunate like me, lost your job and still are looking, know that things are getting better and you WILL find work.

The Republicans with all their hateful partisanship would have said screw you to the American people, all the while taking care of themselves and their special interest.

God Bless America, God Bless the Democrats, and God bless Obama!!! :peace::clap::hug:8):hump:

I don't care for either side at all.

but your statement here is the most blinded i've read yet.

If this stimulus bill was supposed to fix the problem then why did all the bailout money go straight to the banks.

They are telling us to spend spend spend our money on everything we can possibly find to stimulate the economy but where did this extra money come from, food prices have gone up, utilities bills have increased and just about every other aspect of life has increased in costs, yet wages have been frozen to the average guy as businesses can not afford pay rises, job cuts are being made, so people are far worse off and are being asked to spend whatever they can.

All this bill serves is to make everyone a damn sight poorer and force people to borrow borrow borrow more and more money.

I remember when all the reports were first coming out about financial disaster and I thought to myself then, ok these newscasters are telling us that we could be heading for a recession and then it was story after story about it, always commenting that we could be heading into one. I thought why are they talking about it so god damn much, saying were heading into recession is going to cause one as people panic and sell shares and take money out of savings accounts, which goes into a downward spiral.

What I would love to do is to sit with a republican and a dem and ask them what it is they really want out of life, how they think the rules should be setup and I would think that deep down the majority of the answers would be the same and pretty basic.

Neither of the sides truly reflect the ideals of the supporters, they both have the same agenda just a different route of how were going to get there and the public get to vote on the route and whichever is most popular is how it goes.

Both rep and dem suck, get rid of them both and get something that reflects the peoples wishes.

The stimulus bill was designed to stimulate the government, not the economy, and that's all it has done. While real jobs producing goods in the real economy are being lost left and right, the only sector where there is job growth is the government. At this rate we willl soon be like the Soviet Union and all work for the government, and be slaves to it.

Those who say the stimulus bill was a failure aren't exactly accurate. It has been a success in what it was designed to do - provide billions of pork money for government agencies and unions.

Find anything similar with this to the gold standard seizure.

We are still letting a relatively small handfull of dominant people dictate our lives to us.

There are so many of us and we could quite easily change the world and government by standing together but people are still to caught up in deciding between the two evils and protecting their financed cars and financed houses.

It always works from the top down... always.

The difference is in this country... YOU can rise to the top on your own hard work and merit. Try that anywhere else.

Don't whine about it.... DO something about it. Socialism isn't the answer.... it's the capitulation.

PS... Lcey's chart is interesting...but i never stopped saving ... it a personal CHOICE. Americans chose poorly .. ON THEIR OWN.

Who said anything about socialism, your just using pre-defined terms but if your happy to live the dream you've been sold thats cool then thats cool, everyones entitled to their own beliefs.

as for it being a personal choice that americans make poorly, you are in a position where you can save not everyone is that fortunate,

a good salesman always lets people think they have a choice when really they don't, its a forced choice that the salesman wanted you to make without you even realising it.

I'm sorry, what is your alternative please?

Or is this just a general whine. I got myself an education. I applied myself. I worked hard. it paid off.

Spend less time lamenting your woes, and more time achieving your goals. if you can't make it here in the USA...you can't make it ANYWHERE.

In the best system on the planet...and still...the whine continues.

My alternative is a government that serves the people and not itself, I see so often people arguing against each other that this party is better than the other, but really they just serve the same purpose with a different sales pitch.

I like your line where you say, I got myself an education, I always love great grammar in sentences like that.

What you seem to forget though is that there a tons of people out there who aren't education, who weren't born into the right family. I can see how you look down upon these people but the truth is they are more important than you are, because without them there would be no toilet paper, because there wouldn't be anyone to package it, or drive the forklift to get it on a wagon. You wouldn't have a credit card because there wouldn't be someone working in the mail room to send it to you. I could go on and on with a list like that about people not as clever as you claim to be who are just as important as you or I am.

I don't spend time lamenting my woes, I spend most of my time running a business and trying to make my world my way, not the governments way or anyone elses.

Weren't born to the right families? what on earth does that mean? Everyone has a shot at an education. You don't even have to go to school to get one. It's all up to the individual. I'm 50, and I still read a non fiction book a week, even though I might never need the information. It's about having a CAN DO attitude.

Are there raw deals in life? Sure there are....that's life. It isn't fair, and the govt. can't change that fact. One could argue that if not for atrociously run govt. schools now...ur point would be moot. One could argue that and be 100% correct.

But who do you turn to for answers? Politicians.... more government. Why? Because they PROMISE to do right by you. Uh huh.... just look at the actions, not the words.

You don't have to be a millionaire to be successful or happy. You do need to be free to make your own decisions though. But not YOU.... you want someone else to make your decisions.

Maybe I'm wrong...maybe you are against the entire Obama administration and their policies.

Only then does your post make any sense what so ever. this country has the most upwardly mobile economy in the world. You can be born an orphan....and become a billionaire...it's up to THE INDIVIDUAL.

So your saying to me that a black child that is born and sent to an orphanage at birth, never found parents and was at that same orphanage the whole time, has no where to go when its time to leave will only have a bad life because of the choices its made?

It's easy to say that sitting on a leather chair in a detached duplex property sipping red wine.

I consider myself very fortunate to be where I am, to have been in a position to have made the choices i've made but I think its very blind not to realise how many people don't get choices.

How many children in america right now are not getting raised right by parents who just don't have the time to be a parent because they are out at work all day and all evening just to pay the bills.

How many kids are born into families surrounded by drugs and addicts.

How many kids are born into slums with many sibblings because their parents think theres nothing better to do then keep popping babies out.

These kids are not faced with the same choices.

In your neighbourhood maybe everything is fine and dandy just like it is in my neighbourhood but places like these are a small percentage compared to how most people live.

Not if it's hot, you're shirtless, the neighbors are fighting, and the red wine is 5 dolla swill...and you just found out you have herpes. Just sayin...can you picture me now?

I'm saying that a half black guy born in kenya can be sneaked into the country....grow up relatively poor...get a scholarship to Harvard and become President....yes. Then when he becomes President, he can say the system is broken. Gosh...he is smart.

Yes, He can!

Yes he can ... once! Not twice!!

One term. The jig is up for Obama. He had his chance. the country took a leap of faith and elected someone with absolutely ZERO experience.

That mistake will not be made for a long long time. He's out...but who is coming in?

That's the question.

Obama is over...it is time to start looking for our next president.

Obama is a one term President. the country is veering away from the hard left....again.

Get used to it.
Newsflash: Obama and the dems plan to slam the healthcare bill through by way of reconciliation. Oooh my, the flaming leftists score another one. Myself, I think this bill is crap, a huge giveaway to the insurance thieves. By forcing everyone to buy into this, it basically gives the Ins. companies 30 million new customers without a way to control costs. Without a public option, this bill is total crap.

And we agree again Med. But your right, anything that has to be jammed through against the will of this many citizens cannot be the "Right" way to do it.
I am beginning to really detest politics and politicians.
GWN

A public option is exactly what has been killing the issue in the first place. No one wants it.

The pol's are simply facing reality....but no matter...this bill will not pass either.... whew! Still free.....so far.

NWO... its coming, please be prepared for the unbelievable because it just might happen... being slaves just like the poor once was, Egypt.. Rome... AND NOW US UNLESS...
