as far as I know....many of the sativa based strains are tall and lanky...whereas the indica strains are more generally short and bushy...i'm sure there are exceptions, and I also expect that the hybrids put this contention all over the map...but original pics of like Thai sativas show thiese monstrous spindly ....things....that produce some of the dankest smoke. and I don't know that much about this but the sativas I believe are also more of a "active" and "energetic" stone versus the indica. But again...that seems to be very strain dependent...as well as on the "finishing".....and by that I mean the stage of harvest....and the time/method of drying and curing - there's so much involved in doing this hobby....and it really is so much fun!
fdd...says he just looks at his buds....and he feels its right....he has the experience and the sixth sense to do that...but I believe there is some "gut" to doing this too......seems to me the most reliable is the trichomes colour (cloudy then amber - many say 75% amber?), but also the general sense of fullness of the buds...for me that would be difficult cuz I need to get a lot more time under my belt to feel that I have a handle on that.....but with some many things.....it has to feel right in your soul......let yourself guide you.....listen to yourself....good luck....I'll keep watching!
Wow thanks, very wise words by the sound of them. It's difficult to know when I find myself wanting to pick them every day but waiting till the next. I know their not ready yet but already they look and smell better than anything we buy !
I think they may have another week, maybe 2. That'll make it a 18 week grow.
Here's some more pics of the last couple of weeks.
oH MAN I'm so happy, trouble is been a bit of a blur since the harvest. Smoked about 2 Oz already !
Cheers for all your help, I can't wait to start my next grow.
We got the light from our local "garden centre" grow well hydroponics.
