Is composted horse shit and hay good for growing?

Yeah of course, it will work like any other compost would with any other plant, its gonna make it grow nice n big n healthy like.

yes yes and yes... if its leached of all the amonia from sitting in piss and all that ... it hold water very well ...and its very spongy in texture. you will notice that you dont have to even mix it in much you can almost plant directly in the horse shit if its old horse shit.

I find to much crap actually ruins the soil when added in large dosages. Its great in small doses, especially when the horse was fed hay as it won't all digest and allows a break in the crap for it to breath. To much though and it just becomes a thick clump of shit "sponge" haha. Can't argue that you could grow straight in it though, as thats a fact. I just find its overly resistive to roots and drainage compared to say FFOF. Really not sure how much I mix up since I just eye it for the most part on a big tarp, but probably filling an entire 5 gallon bucket id add like 3 or 4 cups.

it works great i mean GREAT for dry areas or areas that need water'd often or hot dry type climates... because it retains moisture

You'd be better off with Llama or Sheep shit, but all forms of dookie have all sorts of bacterias and vitamins that enrich soil.
The proper compost your looking for is a nitrogen rich compost. Commonly, the things used for nitrogen rich compost are things like manures, food scraps, or green leafy clippings.(like the type of clippings you commonly have left over after making bubble hash.

The other items used for composting are more commonly used to make a carbon rich compost. To make this compost, you'd be breaking down things like sawdust, peels, shredded paper sacks, HAY(yup),egg shells, or ash. These are of little use to you.
If you thinking about getting into composting manure, you'd be well advised to get yourself some bloodmeal & bonemeal. If you ever have any problem with it not getting hot for you, just add some of the bloodmeal and a little of the bonemeal, and it'll heat right up for ya'.
If your using horse manure, it wouldn't hurt for you to pick up a couple gallons of THIS, and use it to keep your compost heap damp. It'll make it even better for your ladies.
