Ahh, so letting them (roots) grow thru the cubes might actually do what I was hoping, stunt growth just a wee bit to ensure they don't get too tall for v-drip before autos finish.
I do have the option of putting them into 4" square net pots (I ordered extra pots on top of the ones holding the autos in v-drip system). Should I fill up the new pots w/ hydroton & throw cubes in there?
Also, I assumed (granted ASSumed), that it would be better for the cubes to not sit directly on bottom of drip tray. SO that they aren't sittin in any stagnant water or anything (there usually is bout an 1/8" of soultion @ bottom of drip tray, as the lip of the drain fitting protrudes that far. Lmme know if that doesn't make sense.
So I found some small wire rack type things that keep the cubes bout 2" from the botto of the tray.
I'll take some pics tonight so u can see algae, setup & the FUKN BLOOMERS.
I really am so fucking pumped bout those fuzzy poosies!
For real dude, I'm pretty sure I rubbed one out while just gazing at them last night. HA
Cheers to you my friend. YOu do some really cool & extremely important shit that most pricks on here are too self righteous, or stuck up to ever even come close to. I see everyone does a good job of thanking you.
But man you have totally (virtually) held my hand thru this goose & really do fukn preesh it. Really gonna find a way I can return some type of favor to you 1 day my man.
Stay up, I'll get pics up tonight soon as I can get some free time. Though they will obv. pale in comparison to that sweet goodness I saw on the utuber the other day. That shit is stained in my memory dude.
I want that one day (when I have space & what not). Really gotta find out how the balls you got that (im guessin here) 10K watts of juice pumpin. You a pimp my man, thanks for everything.
definitely sounds like you got the idea with the roots.. its not going to top them by any means.. but should buy you a few days...
no reason to throw them in net pots without being ready for the system..
you were right about the cubes.. what you set up is fine....
thank you as always bro.. appriciate all the thanks and praise..
i have 2500ws for veg and 4000ws for flower.. and really it doesnt do much to my elec bill.. im a single guy in a three bedroom house... got plenty of things i cut power to.. but really its not as bad as what everyone thinks.. basically would use the same amount with 5 space heaters running... and they would actually pull more power since they would run all the time.. the rest of my set up pulls little power at all.. works out nicely..
Hey bro, saw the post above about sure to grow (sounds like its the exact opposite).
Anyway, thats the white kinda styrofoam lookin stuff, correct?
Please advise, I actually was virtually a click or two away from buyin that shiz for my first go, then ended up playin safe & goin w/ hydroton @ the last minute.
Sorry to hear bout your issues.
I'm still breakin my cherry on first grow. Sampson recommended rapid rooters. Soaked them in some root stimulant for a few hours & they were ready to rock.
Bout 90% germ rate on first batch. & bout the same (I fukd up & let em get to dry 2nd go) for the follow up batch.
Anyway, they totally did the trick. Very porous seems like roots were thrivin quick style. I believe it was 8 days from the day beans sproutin til I dropped 'em straight into hydroton & they have performed wonderfully from there.
On second batch started in same way in rooters. Thru into rockwool cubes maybe 9-10 days later. & got roots bustin thru the rockwool now after bout 10 more days. So yeah, RR's are lovely!
For what it's worth, thats my humble opinion. Sampson get ya straight though.
Pitty, thought that sure to grow shiz looked great. (Easy clean up, no conditioning or rinsing, etc.)
If you could reply back to make sure we are on same page (so I know never to try it).
Take care, & good luck friend
stg inserts look nice but work for shit.. they dont let water pass through them right... no good...
SimpsonSampson... i will get pics up as soon as i take some new ones. i've also ordered new seeds for the next grow.... just to be safe. i'm debating on whether or not to chop the current plants down. they've been nothing but a nightmare throughout the entire vegitative cycle... if i even were able to make it to flower, how well do you think they'd produce? they're weak and growing Super slow now, so where are they going to get the burst of energy and strength to produce large, strong, healthy buds? i've already lost alot of time on them. they're a month and a 1/2 behind already. my thinking is to just cut my loses and get the new seeds going asap. i could veg them for a month like normal, and possibly be done with flower by the time the current plants get to the proper height to flower.... what's your take on the subject? thanks.
i never like hearing people abandoned their grow mid point.. mainly because i dont like them to feel like a failure and be discouraged at all going into their next grow.. things happen without reason and sometimes that means dead plants... i lost 3 girls when i flipped mine into flower (the ones that are in my youtube vid)... not only that but one was flowering very nicely and just died out of no where.. so if you do chop dont take it as a failure.. just as a learning experience...
if you do keep them going its going to take some recoup time.. yes more time.. thats every growers enemy... starting over is faster.. i guess thats up to you.. cant really say what i would do... prolly say fuck it and start over...
you could always start the new seeds and veg them and flower everything at once.. give the time to the plants to get stronger.. that would be fine... again its up to how much work you want to put into them...
alright, i tried a few dif. angles & w/ or w/ out the hps on. It's just to damn dark w/ out the hps on (can't get light from the flo, its blocked off), so it's just a shitty lamp i have. So lighting ain't that great, but take a peak & lemme know what ya think doc!
looking good bro.. very nice..
from looking at the pics here is what i can tell...
1, they are eating properly.. you can bump up the bloom nutes if you want to really start pushing them hard... but they are eating balanced and right right now.. adding more bloom wont fuck that up...
2, from the looks of things you prolly have about 3 weeks left until they are done.. a bit closer of a pic would help me.. but from what i can tell thats about where your at... you should have them buds double between now and then....
looking good bro... nice job...
This what i mean't bout the screen that holds 'em up to keep from touchin bottom of tray.
Got keep these goyles happy til the autos get chopped. Break off some wisdom chief!
Also, sprayed peroxide lightly on on the affected spots (the ones w/ green shmegma),
I assume it is best to treat w/ preox. after feedings, correct?
Also, yeah, really wanna know if you think I should pot them in their 4" baskets, or keep in cubes. Again, got 20" vert. space to work with, and thats bout it. Think things will pop together right in time?
Any takers?? For real thanks again for evthing my man. Look forward to hearin ur feedback!
Also, the last pic is a auto white russian i forgot to put w/ the others. It sucks for real, cause some o' the most diesel lookin nodgies are in the back of the tent & can;t get a good clear shot. Got bout 3 that are a good handful, & I got some big ass hands. Anyway, you'll see @ the chop (lawdy willing), any takers on est. chop date? I'm super psyched.
thanks bro
screens good...
sticking to my original time estimate...
if height really becomes and issue on them, or they start to stretch, we'll do some pruning to keep them short... or assist in it... should be fine tho...
spraying after feed is fine... you can also add the peroxide to the feed if you want... this will kill all the beneficial microorganisims at the roots.. so you'll want to add some super thrive or something after you feed a couple times with peroxide to recolonize the root system... but thats not a big issue...
sorry if i seem short guys.. had a litter of puppies yesterday... call me an overly concerned dad.. lol 5 males and 2 females... along with the 4 adult and 1x 5 month old pup (from a litter i had a while back).... im like the crazy cat lady, except im a dude... with dogs... and im not weird.. so maybe thats a poor comparison.. anyways.. havent slept much the last few days... anyone decides they want a pup in about 6 weeks let me know... lol colby pit and american/razor edge pit mixes.. all brendal.. some dark (blackish/greyish brendal) and some brown brendal... beautiful pups with big ol heads...
