Sounds like you have a lot to learn, I would recommend posting our own thread rather than asking in somebodies grow journal. There are stickies that cover pretty much everything you need to know all over the place. It's 4:47am now.. too late for me to get into it all.

It's just an upside down Rubbermaid storage container. You can probably grab one for a few bucks at Kmart or something like that.

Thanks guys, appreciate the enthusiasm. Right now I am not sure how I feel about this grow, I am really only happy with one of the SD plants. I am also going to be growing a few other things soon and maintaining several concurrent grow logs is getting a bit of a pain. I thinking of starting a new log with all my stuff in it together. Anyways, the ballast came in today, still waiting on the bulb and reflector.

The unit feels quite heavy to attest to it's quality. There were also rubber feet included to slide into the 2 notches on each end of the ballast. It cost me $139 on ebay with free shipping and arrived within 2 days from upstate NY.

Good deal! I've heard Lumatek is one of the best. I can't say from experience on that - but I can tell you my own digital ballasts, while not Lumatek, run so much cooler than the magnetic ones, it's amazing. My 600w digitals I can put my hand on after 12 hours, and it's barely warm to the touch. The magnetic 400's, too hot to handle.

Well that's reassuring to hear, thanks for the info. Not sure if anybody here has experience with these ballasts, but gimme a holla if you do. I was wondering if anybody had tried running one of the 430W bulbs with the switch on 'SuperLumens' which supposedl supplies up to 10% more power to the bulb.

My only concern with digital was RF interference. I like cell phones, wireless routers, bluetooth, cordless phones ect and I've heard many models are improperly shielded. Hopefully they have fully corrected that problem by now. Lumatek is the best digi from what I've heard.
