The fed gave me $400 too much

So I sent in my tax returns as soon as I could, expecting $1,146 back from the fed gov. The direct deposit hit my account the other day for $1,546.

Is there some type of $400 credit I missed (unlikely)?
Did they just make an error in my favor (even more unlikely)?
Can I get in trouble for not telling them?

I also have to send in a 1040x because a tax document for cashing in my 401k was mailed to me after I submitted my return. The 1040x would have given me another $200 or so, should I even bother now?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks
 
no it a new credit that they are giving to everyone...i heard about it on the radio i havent gotten mine back yet but it would be nice if if was on there...
 
lol...im going out to Vegas next week on fri would be nice to wake up and see a couple stacks in the account on the way to Vegas mine would probably go on the same thing
 
Success! I had worked for two weeks during the year of 2009. I received a $400 credit that was wired to my bank.
Free new bong for me, thank you government.
 
'Making work pay' implies you are working, thus paying taxes. So I will thank myself. And I will also thank Obama and the dems and the 1 single republican who voted for the stimulus.

Did you get your $400 stimulus check when GWB was in office? If not, maybe it was that. i haven't done my taxes yet this year cuz I don't think I will be getting anything back this year cuz I made way too much money...

My overall tax liabilities this year, after refunds and credits, were over $2,000, maybe over $3,000 when you figure in state taxes. This figure does not include money paid into SS or Medicare.

So again, I will thank myself. As well as Obama, the dems, and the 1 republican who voted for the stimulus.
 
yeah obama is giving everyone 400$ OF STIMULIS MONEY to help bankrupt america faster. HnR block told me its 400$ from obama stimulis money..i need money but think its retarded to give us 400$ when everythings a mess.
