What to do about smell?

So the soil being under the lights is making a smell and I only have little seedlings. I am using s small grow box and do not have any ventilation set up as of now. (But plan too) I'm trying to figure out some sort of venitlation and a way to get rid of the smell.

2 Questions:

#1 Can I use some pvc pipe with bends and have a comp fan blow through that without and light coming in or out?

#2 I need some sort of smell killer but it needs to be stealth. I have a small box in a closet about 26" x 15" x 36" I have seen the carbon scrubber thingy, but seems kinda big and want to figure out another way...

The carbon filter will probably be your best bet, especially as your plants get older. I got one thats pretty big, for my space, but it will pay off when you start to flower eventually. you can get small ones too. they are relatively cheap on ebay. I got my blower and my carbon filter for like 175 total. I know it seems like a lot but it's deff. worth the money.

m8 = mate lol (didnt get it at first haha)
Anyway, I'm not concerned, it is just noticeable and want to take care of it now because I know how bad it is going to smell in the future!

I've got a small grow box. In one of the lower corners there's a hole cut out with a carbon filter over it(just a filter, not one of those big scrubber things). In the opposite upper corner, there a smaller hole cut out with a comp fan on the outside blowing out, with another carbon filter on the inside. It's actually pretty effective. Other than that, without getting something bigger all I can suggest is candles, insense, room spray, etc..

Where did you get those carbon filters you speak of? And did you do the cell phone charger mod to power them?

I've found carbon filters in a few places. Walmart has some near where they have air purifiers/humidifiers and such. The ones I got were called a "prefilter" for some kind of purifier, $10. It's just a roll of carbon filter. They're also used as odor filters on those lids for cat litter boxes, and places like petsmart have replacements.

Yeah, I hacked up a couple of ac adapters, the first one was 12volt, which the fans are supposed to run on, but they ran too strong and loud. So I used a 7 volter which is perfect.

Also try the ONA block. I am growing 5 Misty. They are 22 days old in veg and already I can smell them as soon as I walk in the door to my grow closet. I bought one of the small blocks of ONA and it works great. If you are just growing a few plants this might just do the trick. It is only about $8 so it is cheap enough to try. If one does not work try 2 or get the big bucket, and run a fan across it. Hope this helps.

Try putting amonia in a large saucer in the room. The amonia draws in oders. It works for most oders like cigarret smoke in cars. Haven't tried it for weed yet.

hey, newbie...you might consider another name. there's another user on here, called NoobieGrower that has one hell of a rep. Wouldn't want you to get mistaken for them.

I used two 4 inch CP fans, one intake and one exaust. I also purchased a carbon "sock" off ebay designed specifically for absorbing smells. The whole setup including the filter sock, two fans, mounting hardware and wire was about $30 US. I ran the fans on a standard 12v dimmer I had laying around. This setup seems to work extremely well for low budget. Especially now I am flowering and they are STINKY.

It sounds like this is filtering the intake air. How could this be helpful? Shouldnt the filter be on the exhaust, up top?
