*Issues w/ Heat. No A/C or window a/c.*

Ok so the summer is right around the corner. i live where during the summer its normal to see 95-105 degrees and sometimes higher.

I have a digital greenhouse 600watt hps system on its way from HTG.

hps or no hps without an a/c its about to be hotter than shit in my grow place.

no a/c of any kind and the kicker is the room i am growing is unable to have a window a/c (because of the type of window).

so im looking for some type of method to keep the plants cool in such hot weather (and to keep my hps cool as well and no i didnt get a cool tube...just a regular reflector).

so i was hoping someone could shed some light on this situation. i looked into swamp coolers and portable a/c units but the reviews were horrible. everyone had a complaint (often stating that its only cooler within a sq ft of the unit.

that wont work for my grow.

i already have two fans going in the room (which is plenty as its only in the 70's right now)...but when summer comes i dont want my plants to die.

any ideas or good (hopefully inexpensive) products that would work well?

will i need an a/c to use the 600w system? or do they not get that hot?

Im going to have the same problem during the summer i hope people post and give you advice to i can get it... because im growing the same way but under a 400 watt and i have 1 big fan and 2 small one directed at the light and im still getting temps in the high 70s.

lmao im growing with 10 23w cfls at the moment and you'd be surprised as to how hot it gets with 10 cfls...

its unreal.

i dont even wanna think about how hot its gonna be a 600w and its 100+ outside with NO a/c.

im hoping someone here can help because once i finish my test grow here (a mystery strain and a fem purple wreck) im going to be moving on to the hps (might even flower the test run with the hps if it gets here quick enough) and i know they wont be able to handle the heat.

i can barely handle the heat in the summer...so i know damn well they will most likely die w/ that type of heat.

there is no way around needing an ac in your situation. you're right, most portable ac's are very inefficient. here's consumer reports suggestion:

"If you do decide to buy a portable unit, choose a model that has two hoses (one that brings in air from the outside to cool the condenser coils and another to exhaust that air back to the outside) and evaporates the condensed water."

where would one find such a unit?

i searched many search engines...checked with amazon, target, walmart, homedepot, lowes, etc.

nothing of the sort so far.

are they called something other than swap coolers or portable a/c's?

the portable ones i saw run on ice and/or ice + water. often many complained as it needed to be refilled every hour.thats too extreme and unrealistic for me. especially when many i seen held 7 liters.

7 liters of ice an hour is unacceptable!

i seen those...i didnt know thats what they were called...

they were considered "commercial" a/c units so i figured that meant not for me and i skipped past it. haha...dumb mistake.
