Newb Question about bagseed

So i got a lot of seeds from an oz of brown schwag...my question is...

Doesn't it seem like your odds of getting hermies and males are much greater using schwag seeds...I mean cause Its from an oz of bud and I got like 150 seeds, it just doesn't seem right if someone had that many seeds in their buds like maybe it is from hermies or something?

secondly...is it possible that these plants or buds just didn't get taken care of well or something, and that they could actually have some good genes?

the sex of your plant really depends on the light and nutrients it receives. more light it will be male, less light female, lighting keep on changing will be hermaphrodite because it will confuse the plant.

Hard to tell, about the hermies, because you have no idea who grew it or how they were setup. My guess is that alot of seeds come from larger outside grow ops, where they don't have the time to go out and check for hermies, and maybe even leave some males there intentionally for more seed weight.

If you get lucky and don't end up with any hermies, you'll end up with smoke that is alot better than the stuff you got the seeds from, for sure. :)

My experience is about 10% hermie or intersex plant from bag seed.
I and many others have had decent results from bagseed of all types. Much better than what they came from. Seeds endure quite a bit of abuse without issue. Some good genes can be in those seeds. It's probably some kind of sativa.

Be aware that it is unlikely that you will get a good indoor-adapted high-thc plant. Seed banks are the way to go, considering the time and money invested overall.

I hate bag seeds, I think it is a wast of time and money! It is good to gain yourself some experience though!

thats not true, its not about the intensity of light but the spectrum, more red light more males, more blue more fems, and less light is more likely to produce fems and not males because its more likely to stress the plant with less light

we recently grew a bagseed as a exsperiment and realised it was actually thai stick! super bushy satica plant that actually turned into a hard little monster! but on the whole bag seed isnt worth growing unless it imported from thai or bush weed that would be grown outside and be natrually fertilised rather than plants hermeing in a grow room

i'm more of an outdoors type guy so, if i plant early will they be male and if i plant late will it be female or do plants have equal 50/50 chance since they are outdoors.

light plays a bigger role in the male to female ratio! more light male, less light female! also nutrients are another key factor! females love to eat!
