What is the amp rating of the on/off switch/breaker?

If it's 60 amps then use #6 AWG
If it's 130 amps then use #1 AWG

i believe it say's 60 amps so you should use #6 AWG. if you have any more questions about how to hook up the power box just let me know, I'd be happy to answer any electrical questions you have.

I suspect it is 130 amps to the box split between two seprate lines so each line will carry only 65 amps a piece allowing you to use #6 AWG for each line.

Do you know how to hook this up to your electrical box?

White goes to the neutral bar,--the copper bar with all the other white wire connected to it
Green goes to the ground bar,--the copper bar with all the bare copper wires connected to it
Red and Black connect to a 220 braker,--It's a braker that takes up two slots in the electrical box

Just talked to my bro its 150amps at the main split into 2 seperate boxes....ya I did ruff ins and trim work as a young man

Thats kind of what i'm askin ....do I have to add a 60 amp at the box then #6 wire to the powerbox......the box has a built in 60 amp breaker too

Damn thats a nice unit! The breaker on the unit is a dual 60 amp. Obviously you need to supply it with at least the same dual breaker or larger. Without the calculation and just from experience, I built a 6000 watt room with #6AWG with no issues. You may be looking at wiring your unit directly to the main terminals. Though not code electrical, you are completely safe to do soas the unit has a built in circut breaker. Where did you get that thing? It's a really good design.

I like to hear different answers and go with the most popular:mrgreen:

Ive heard the easiest way to hardwire this unit is to use #10 wire and 2-30 amp breakers.... put 1 30 amp on each side of the box/pole... red to 1 - 30 amp... black to the other 30 amp.... yellow common..green ground...What you bros think about that?

I bought the unit here www.powerboxinc.com :peace:

No you CAN NOT wire it with #10 or 30amp breakers. The picture with the whip on the end of the unit with the Red, Blk, Wht, Grn need to do directly to the panel and on a 2pole 60AMP breaker. If the whip is not long enough you need to make a j-box to splice with wires with #6awg COPPER ONLY back to the panel and in a breaker. There's really not a bunch of ways to do it unless you want to burn down your spot. You don't ever want those colored wires hanging on the wall either. They need to be protected with pipe or tubing. You could splice with Romex and make sure to keep the romex protected when it runs back to the panel. I hope this makes sense to you and you do it the right and safe way.

What is the gauge of the pigtail wires? Looks like #10.
It looks like #10 to me, not very smart for the manufacturer to use even smaller guage wire for a photo on their website. The MODEL: DPC-12000-D looks like it has 8/4 SOOW wire, which is rated for only 40 amps @ 240V, another mistake by the manufacturer. When I told the manufacturer that, they removed the link to larger pic which shows that it's only 8/4 cable.
