WOW ... it seems like everything i do fails. I just upgraded to a sun system air cooled hood in my 3/4 space and a new 409 cfm fan and it STILL wont keep a regulated temp!? WTF. holy cchrist someone just tell me how to fix this fucking temperature problem. WHAT THE FUCK.

i jast have a cheapo extrator fan in the attic sucking everything out through a cooltube. it's staying around 70 max atm

what is a 3/4 space and what light are you using?
 
Hey how about a little more info. Beside your air cooled hood what else are you doing, circulation fan, passive intake, is there a scubber on the end of your light, what size is the room and is the cfm ration adaquite?

your right, light is 600 watt hps. air cooled sun system with 6 inch ducting.

no scrubber on end right now , its just raw on one side with extraction on the other. c

cfm ratio is WAY MORE than i need and apparently still not enough to keep this damn temp down.

and i have 70 cfm intake coming from my bedroom adjacent to the grow room .

any other questions ill answer right away.

room is surrounded by pandafilm with opening at top to let out any escaping hot air and at moment i have circulating fan in there that i just added to possibly remove the " hot spots " if those are real at all?

Not sure how your grow space is set up, but I have a similarly sized room with a 156cfm inline pulling through a canfan carbon filter. The thing is when I first installed it I practically had it sitting on the floor. Heat problems ensued. I bolted some L-brackets up high on the wall to exhaust the rising hot air and, voila, my temps lowered dramatically to a manageable 79-80.

It's a different situation than yours, but if there is any way you can get the intake of your fan up high and pull cool air into your grow space passively from a lower area, it may help. No idea how your place is set up, so this may not be possible.

a good quick fix for temporary temp problems is to put some frozen 2ltr bottles in front of a fan

your probably looking for a long term fix though, and ventilation is not my thing

im open to all things which work for you ... i spent 850 fucking dollars yesterday on grow equipment just to run into major failsauce. HELP.

It seems to me that because your hood fan is of a higher cfm than your intake, you are drawing air in through other sources (cracks and the open top of your grow room) and not fully utilizing the cooler air being pushed in through your wall intake fan, if in fact the outside air is cooler than 87. If not you will not be able to lower your temps without some sort of AC.

If your outside temp is lower than inside, you could directly hook up the open end of your hood to the wall intake and pull the air in passively that way (after disconnecting/removing the wall intake fan of course). This way you know exactly where the air cooling your hood is coming from and cooling it more efficiently.

But again, because you mentioned it is very hot in FL, your outside ambient temp must be below 87F. Whatever your outside temp is is the lowest you can possibly bring your temps down to without additional AC.

Another possibilty would be leave the hood as is and seal up your grow room tight. You'll still need to remove/disconnect your 96cfm wall intake fan. Your 406cfm fan will lower the pressure in your room and draw air in from the easiest point of entry, being your wall intake via the duct. But again, LOL, only if your outside temp is lower then 87F.

agreed. making sure that the intake of air is from the coolest source possible.

from the look of it the exhaust ducting isn't even flushly seled, meaning that as hot air is drawn out, at a very high rate, the area where that hot air is being exhausted, well that aair can be sucked straight back in.

first off i see you have your thermometer mounted way up high. unless your planning on growing 7 footers move it down to the canopy and i bet you get 5 degress right off the bat.now we go from 87 to 82 which is ok. you have not told us what the temp is in your house or apartment. if its 80 in your house your fucked, ambient temp in and around your house is very important. then i see a fan grate mouted down low i think outside the grow room. is that your intake? if your room is somewhat airtight you will not be close to the cfm your fan is rated for, it will be closer to that intake and under 100cfm will not cool that light.intake air should be as close to the floor as possible. why does the flx pipe do a big circle in the one pic that looks to be outside the grow area?flex should be as short as possible and turns should be as smooth as possible, no sharp bends in your pipe. give me some more pics after you move your thermometer down to your plant. dont worry ,for now you can light that little plant with a cfl or 2 until you get your shit right.I also see a pretty big fan for that area and it looks like it is pushing air up past your light, probably swirling hotair right on that temp gage.
