Heat Stress ??? HELP !!! **PICS**

These ladies are 3 weeks into flower and for some reason they're showing some signs of maybe heat stress ? i just started them under a 400 hps a couple days ago and they're seemingly frying at upper big fan leaves . the lamp was about 18" above them with temps at 82-83 . After i noticed the damage i put the lamp higher to about 26" above the plants . temps are at about 79 now but it still seems like they are slowly frying . heat at the top of the plants is unnoticeable . wtf is going on ?

you can see where it's yellowing . the leaves feel like they getting thinner as they grow yellow

only thing i can think of is that perhaps they need to be watered more and you might need more airflow across the tops of your plants. your plants are using more water now in flowering than ever so check the soil often and make sure they aren't drying out too fast. also be careful with the fan cuz if you dry them out with heat and the fan blowing on them will drop out the fan leaves starting with the tips.

also in some strains this is completely normal. i've seen strains with gigantic beautiful flowers but almost 80% of the leaves were practically dead. as long as you keep the temps down and give them plenty of fresh air they should be ok.

i think it was a good idea to move that light to 26" too. if you can get temps down maybe you can drop it a bit

Hard to believe it is heat stress. 82-83 degrees is not a problem. I would do an entire grow at that temp and not worry.

Without a hood I run my 400 watt MH/HPS 12 inches from the tops.

Do you have a fan blowing over the tops of them?

yeah i've got an oscillating fan keeping a nice breeze across the plants .

they're sitting in 3gal pots getting watered every 3rd-4th day or so depending on pot weight .

I run my room at 79 to 81 and i have 4 1,000 watt lights in one room. Try flushing your plants real well 1 gallon to every three gallons of soil. also try lowering your ph a little you might be getting chemicle burn.

Whats up Highasfukk? just my two cents, but i dont see any heat related stress there, it has to be something else. Not only does your plant not show heat trouble curling leaves etc,but as the other poster said your temps are just fine as well as your air flow ive run my temps at 85 for an intire grow without heat stress. You have some sort of deficiency going on right now if you get a better pic of the leaves affected we may be able to tell whats happening..but its not heat brother..Peace

flush your soil 1 gallon to each pot. just ph and water. Iv had that problem before its not heat

StickyScissors i agree!! I have had this problem before and i leached the soil (flush it out), and all the new growth did not have any more yellow leaves. I think it looks like signs of a micronutrient deficiency. Maybe Iron or Zinc.

or it could even be salt build up. or nutrient lockout. It doesnt look like its that bad yet.

damn i just got done watering them with nutes :O\

i was going to flush at the end of this week anyways before i start blasting them with some serious bloom nutes .

should i wait til the next watering to flush or flush right away ?

i should also mention, that the yellowing is happening to the middle to upper most fan leaves . none of the new growth seems to be affected . the bottom half of the leaves are staying super lush and green .

i'll keep an eye on them

by the way how do they look ? today is flower day 24

I would flush & when you start feeding again use veg nutes with a good dose or 2 with high nitrogen to help get through the whole flowering phase but dont over do it.

Oh I should also mention the medium they are in since flushing can vary from medium to medium

45% FoxFarm Ocean Forest
45% FoxFarm Light Warrior
10% Perlite

Nutes:
FoxFarm TigerBloom
FoxFarm BigBloom
CalMag
Superthrive
Grotek MonsterBloom
small amounts of FF GrowBig during week 3 and 4 of flower

Does anyone else use FoxFarm soils and have issues with leaching ?????

Do you guys usually flush pre flower and then pre-harvest ? or can you get by with only a pre-harvest flush ?
