12 plants under a 1000 watt light what should i yield??

I have 12 females under a 1000 watt hps I veg them 50 days What shoould i yeild what do most people yeild with a 1000 watt light??
 
First of all unless you are using a light mover 12 plants under 1 1000w light is to many... I usually Start with 8-10 under one light because 1 or 2 plants always seem to have a problem so I wind up with 6-7 healthy plants... a 1000w light is good for a 4x4 space and you should only have 1 plant per square foot which is 8 max... If you try to grow to many in that area all your plants will suffer for it..
Second there are to many variables to tell you what you should get... If you are a first time grower you will be lucky to get .5 grams per watt of light...
 
yep one 1000wtt light is not enough light unless they are only going to be a foot or two tall and then still really the buds won't be a t there full potental because of lack of lumans.. but you do it.

Did EITHER of you read his post? He vegged for 50 days. Its obvious that they will be over a foot tall, mygirls, and biggun your advice is just stupid. You tell him that 12 plants is too many? Why? Since he's vegging for 50 days, he'll have gigantic plants for sure. In fact, 50 day veg time is probably 2x too long.

But regardless, 12 plants is not too many for a single 1kW lamp, it's more than YOUR PREFERENCE.

And dont be a prick and insult the kid with 0.5g/watt. Any idiot with a light can get that. ;)

So, original poster, here's the ACTUAL ANSWER to your question. Your yield from a single 1000w lamp is generally about 2 Lbs per harvest. Sometimes lower, 1.5 Lbs or sometimes higher, 2.25Lbs max for me. Each strain yields differently.

It isnt about how many plants you have under a light, its about making sure the top canopy of plants is non stop green for the entire square. That's it!

I wish I could -rep people for some of their stupid advice they post just for trying to get +rep wrongly.
 
yes i agree with research kitty. i aam veggin longer and flowering in a 7x7x7 tent with my 600 watt hps. have 4 fems and 3 unk. hoping to get 6 females total. with my 600 watt hoping to get a pound off of it. did training on all plants, top for 4 main colas, and going to finish in 5 gallon buckets. so if you do the right stuff and use good flower nutes, try the fox farms big bloom and tiger bloom, or the fox farms solubles open sesame, beastie bloomz and cha ching. its a 3 part system. so if using good nutes and no flowering problems, id say 1.75- 2 pounds if you dont harvest early.

Ya she's right listen to her...LOL She is obviously the smartest person on this site... My advice is only from years of growing and I can see that idiot knows nothing..... I have several friends that grow for their own med stores here in so cal and everyone of them grows 6-8 plants under their 1000w lights... These people do it for a living and that is how they taught me...They are all happy if they can produce over .5 per watt...If I were you I would READ AND RESEARCH and do not listen to the advice of the moron research kitty... You need to have 1 sq foot of space for each plant for best results... Do what you want....Peace
 
Id agree.. with 1000 watts and 12 plants dont expect over .5 grams per watt.. if you get more be happy.. ^^^^ but there is no need for name calling.
 
.5 g/watt would be a spectacular accomplishment for a first time grower. There are so many variables to answer the question of this post properly. Just make sure sure you are well vented cause that light is gonna put out some heat. I would only do 6-8 under that light but if you have 12 let it roll. Good luck.
 
Okay, let me ask an educated question for smokels; 'When' I flower 6-8 plants in a 4x4 space under optimum conditions, (which I am sure I don't know what they are) what kind of yeild could be expected per watt in comparison to the .5g per watt with 12 plants?

Smokels, I am sure you have heard this before in life, but let me say it again: Be careful who you take advice from. Opinions are like flu virus', each one get's more stubborn over time. That being said, I think you could keep your 12 plants, and maybe add some side lighting, think about a few 75watt CFLs or something of that nature. K.I.S~~~ Dude:blsmoke:
 
Mixing spectrums may not be a bad idea though I mean as long as your twelve/twelve what's the difference, it's just side lighting? :blsmoke: ~~~ The dude is a mood this morning
 
haha good point. i kinda take for granted the 30% increased blue spectrum my hps has so i get that mix. check my sig and my two bushy plants. the rest i just topped and are headed that way fast.

All you need is a bloom and blackstrap molasses . I asume your into the flowering stage now . Make sure you have enough ventalation . As for yeild , it varies from strain to strain but i wouldnt be happy with .5 of a gram . if you let your crop go the distance then you should be looking at 1 gram per watt at the least , No bullshit from me , like your getting from others

[well this is an interesting contradiction to the above mentioned growers(you are talking about) thoughts.] For the sake of knowledge may I ask how big of a space you flowered 14 plants and what strains? :idea:
 
lol this thread is a waste of time... all of you are giving poor advice. To start, he may get one gram, he may get 1000. His growing experience is 0. You guys who are all telling him this nonsence are silly. I have 800 watts hps/mh with 8 plants. 10 plants would be my limit for 1000. 100 watts per plant rule of thumb.... stop telling this kid all sorts of fallacies. Its his first grow.. EVERYONE has problems there first grow..

4 x4 would be 16 wouldn't it?
 
lol yes 4x4 is 16 sq feet... and irish, know why my plants are so green and healthy.. because i use veg nutes during flowering when needed. AKA grow nutes..
