Hey Tripp... I think you remember I'm doing my own Heath style set up. Only 1 level on mine and 4 plants. I went on vacation and let the girls alone. Damn this system. Works too good. Came home and had trees in my closet, and now I'm scrambling to get all their growth under control.

Here are a few pics....been real busy lately. Thanks for stoppin by, Jigfresh. The longest I have left it alone was 3 days, this thing really works well when everything is dialed in. I have been adding about 1.5 gallons per day recently, no leaks either. I estimate another 2 weeks or so and I will harvest most of them. I have a whole lot of purple wreck clones getting ready for the next run, they have really done well in the tubes and are short, very bushy plants. I bought them from growhigh uk a while back.....I'm shooting for about 40 pw and 20 northern lights the next run. I love how the pw's are all covered in white crystals, never seen anything like that before. A big thank you to the advice given about the screens, the buds were really pulling the plants down, all is well again!

I have been running 1.4 ec with ionic bloom and the ph is pretty steady at 6.0. Havent done anything but add bloom when I add a few gallons, no ph adjusters in the last 2 weeks. I'm really looking forward to the next run with all short plants, things will be far more under control. FWIW, the purple wrecks are really stinky-and sticky plants, my hand smelled all day after trimming the little guys. The carbon filter is getting a good workout.

very excellent grow. When I first checked out heath's grow, I shit my pants. Now I see guys like you copying the system and achieving such excellent results. And with only one 600W HPS lights. I'm friggin running 2500W between my veg room and my flower room. And though I produce quality plants, I use a lot of energy, and my harvests are not as large.....at least not as large as heath's last one was...and probably not as large as yours will be...
I'm seriously considering building this system. It's friggin amazing. And it seems like once you've got it dialed in, it isn't too bad to maintain. I can't think of any negatives as far as not building one, except that I'd have to take my flower room down for a couple weeks while I build....But it'd be worth it in the long run I'm sure.
Anyways, excellent work, Trip!!! You've done a great job here.

shit, i flower from seed..... or clone, whatever you will.
the plant will veg by itself, even under 12/12 untill maturity, then it will bloom.
growing small plants is really not that hard at all, actually... just have to keep a close eye on them during flowering, watch for signs of moisture stress and defs, catch them early on, and feed on a very regular schedule.
it helps a little bit if you have a basic understanding of plant nutrition though... actually, it helps alot

patiently waiting for picture update, tripp... The waiting is getting hard though, LOL!!!
here are a few....cool avatar, just got done jamming with my old kawai gb4. I changed my light out for an agrosun red 600w.....thought I was getting a little too much veg growth still and not enough sweet bud action. It seems to be working good after only 5 days. I left the system alone for about 3 days again and the ph was up to 6.5. I pulled a few pws that looked ready under the scope and added a few gallons. I had to pull out another big sativa as it was starting to block up the top tube again. I have almost 50 clones now getting ready for the first all indica run.

I'm going to build another flooded tube grow and remotely monitor it via the internet. I'd like to try and duplicate the auto-fill capability of heaths original res using toilet bowl guts and float....I figure a small camera looking at a trimeter would give me all the data required. I'm shooting for a system I only have to visit once every 5-7 days-just need to figure if its possible to adjust ph or ec remotely?? anyone ever try anything like this?

My roots are clogging my tubes as well. I guess I shouldn't have vegged so long. Oops. I do however like the problems I am having... too much growth... too many roots, lol.

I left my tube setup for 10 days with not crack of the closet door. I just filled it up with a bunch of water (28 gallons). Couldn't alter pH, and just guessed on ec. When I came back the only problem was how much they grew.
I would think you could do the same thing, by keeping a giant 55 gallon drum as your res. And they do make automatic pH and ec monitors. I bet they are a ton of money. I got a flier in the mail from Hanna advertising their setup. I'm guessing this thing is in the $15,000 range... not sure.

you need a networkable PLC to remote monitor.. it can be done, but its a pain in the ass.
the problem is integrating the sensors with the controller... some of them will use sinking inputs and outputs, some will use sourcing.
its usualy the ph and ec meters that use sinking outputs... (current increases as ph/ec rises) it requires a bit of calibration to set up all the parameters.
as far as pumps, nuting, and ph adjustments those can be set up on timed outputs... again, lots of calibration to get the numbers right.
ive seen a thread on here that was fully automated hydro, guy was monitoring via blackberry. very sweet set up, used a pressurized system (not unlike a soda fountain) to deliver nutes and ph corrections via a series of valves from small remote reservoirs
it might be worth it too buy a premade system, unless your a DIY junky!
