electric co. coming to check meter

so they are coming monday because they think the meter is broken because my bill has been to cheap.. are they only gonna inspect the meter or do they check other things as well? im just worried they are gonna check outlets or something and find my grow space what yall think?

They will limit their work to the meter, ive never heard of them coming inside to check appliances and such. Just refuse access if they ask. its your right.

Any power going into your house comes from the outside. They're just checking your outside meter and in the event that they need to get inside, tell them you just set off a bugbomb and they'll need to schedule another time to work inside your home.

they will replace the meter from outside your house. I had mine replaced in my old house and they never asked to come in.

dude they won't go past the lines hooked to the meter itself... most of the time they won't even hook up your main to the meter if you ask them to (on the inside)... you're fine

i never messed with the meter i use cfls lmao.. 120 watts or some shit.. the only problem is.. my landlord is gonna handle it cus i wont be home unfortunately so ultimaley i have no say whether they go inside or not... but judging by comments they shouldnt be snooping around my house anyway..right? i hope? lol

If your not worried about the landlord then your fine. The only reason they would want access to inside is if they think your stealing power. Probably just updating an old model or maybe their field representative reported that it was in bad condition. You are not even drawing enough watts for them to assume much.

The electric company's responsibility ends at the meter. Any work inside your home is your responsibility and as such they shouldn't even care what's going on inside.

I had my meter upgraded to a newer model about two years ago. Got a work notice on my doorknob a couple of weeks prior. When they arrived I got a knock to let me know they were there. They did their work and left. No worries.
