New grower needs advice on a clone.

Okay this is a Chem dog clone I recieved from a friend. Free so Im not complaining but Im new grower and dont know anything really. So to start off again this is a clone been in soil for about 1.5 weeks. Ive waterd it with Pureblend Pro and Liquid Karma nutrients. On a 20 light 4 dark cycle. Temp with tent during the last week was up in the 82-83 with the tent closed. Ive added some fans and now temp is sitting at 78-79. My main question about this clone is it okay? Will it not yeild much? Is it deformed? Or whats going on with it in general? Thanks for any comments.

what type soil are you useing? might be a little early for nutes. Did it have roots going into the soil?

It really does look like nutrient burn. The sad wrinkled leaves and off colors =( Next time you go to water I'd make sure you flush with 3 times the volume of the container it is potted in. Obviously I'm assuming that the clone has indeed rooted as you say it has been in soil for 1.5 weeks.

It really is too early to be adding anything in terms of nutrients. You should wait until the 4th week typically to start feeding as your plants should have everything they need from the soil. Also, I'd probably start them off with a lot less then the recommended dosage (1/2 less). Even though it doesn't look like much they really don't seem to need a lot and flushing as the volume of your plants container goes up becomes a big hassle.

I agree that it's too early for nutes, but those twisty leaves are signs of possible PH problems, which would cause the deficiencies that have started to show. Is the soil PH okay? Did you PH the fert before you used it? Either way, I agree with those guys that they could use a flush with some PHed water. Why the sand? Fungus gnats? I'd scoop most of it out of there if i were you, 'cause you don't really need much more than a thin layer, plus it'll keep the soil wet a long time, which could also be part of the problem, as evidenced by the droopy leaves. Sand clogs the soil a little too, effecting drainage, so should be used only when necessary,(when used on top of the soil) and in moderation.

Ok thanks for the good info guys again I am new at all this so. To flush the plant, I would just give it reg water with good PH level for the next couple weeks. No nutrients whatsoever? Ill back off the nutrients right now. As for the sand. The sand is about less than a half inch layer. Will it really cause that big of PH problems? again thanks for help.

Oh ya the soil im using is Foxfarms Ocean Forest Organic soil, again some botanicare nuts have been throw in. The roots looked good when i got it. Im sure its soiled. But the leaves and plant looked the same as when I had first gotten it if anything the new leaves are the best looking ones.

Nope, you want to pour all 10-15 gallons of water through the soil at one time, then wait for it to dry out and resume your normal feeding/watering schedule. Also, PH everything to 6.5 - 6.8 before adding.(I use 6.8 to try and keep the PH up) That's a good range for soil.

Hmm so basically i would want to move this plant from my tent into say a bathtub and pour 10-15 gallons through the bucket? Once its drained through return this plant to the tent, let the soil dry up then return to its normal watering cycle. ?

^Yep, exactly. I set mine on top of a 5 gallon bucket with holes drilled in the lid, then let the water run down through, and into the bucket. That's another option, if it's too much hassle carrying them to the tub.

Ya them yellow leaves are left over from before it was cut......The plant used the N in the leaves................Just clip the yellow only and leave them be.......I'd get rid of that sand looking shit and get yourself a 5 part mix........2 gal. Pro-mix, 1gal. vermic, 1gal. perlite, 1gal. peatmoss, and 1gal pasterized cow shit..........mix it all up and fill your pots with that................Don't use that miraclegrow soil "junk"........unless you feel like spending several hrs. picking little balls of ferts out......Trust me it sucks i've done it out of desperity..................

You said the temp was high, right? My thinking is it looks like a moisture/humidity/respiration/ventilation deal. If you aren't already on it like I bet you are, try increasing the airflow thru the space. I try to push air in low and push warmer air from the top out. My plants look waxy when they are too hot and dry and the leaves curl when its too hot humid and stagnant. : )

Nice thanks guys, okay so I clipped the yellow leaves off actually revealing a set of much nicer looking little leaves. I did the flush we will see how it all turns out.
