Hanging dry...CRISPY after 2 days...

in the middle of a multi-day harvest of NYPD and Bubblelicious of a very well executed grow...... the first part (one of 2 NYPD's) has hung dry for 2 days in an empty 12x12 room, 63 degree, 31% humidity and constant air movement.. Although it seems the fan was blowing directly on the buds, could that be the issue?... buds are crispy to the point that you hear crackling noises...

I assume just jar them up at this point.....
 
the outside of the buds will dry quickly at that relative humidity but the insides are still wet. yes, put them in the jar and in twenty four hours they'll be wet on the outside as the moisture migrates out. if they're really wet then lay them out on a piece of paper until they're the dryness you want. otherwise, keep them in jars and check daily.
 
jar them now and check in a few hours to over night they will get wet again. even when the stems snap. Most time have to come out for a few more days or at least burp often.
 
should be around 40% cut the fan. bet it will go up. Chopped mine Sunday. room rh is 45 and temps are 70-80. looks like a few more days to go into the jars,
 
humidity too low tell that to the kush that grows in afghan...or plants that grow in higher altitude where the air is dry and crisp... talk to people that grow outdoor in Tuscon BTW DRY as Hell!

I veg my plants, bloom my plants, and dry my buds ALL in 20% humidity. And it takes my buds around 6-8 days to dry (Passive intake). So I really don't think the 31% humidity was your problem. It was the fan blowing directly on the buds, that's a BIG no no! Next time just have the fan blowing air and circulating it around the room, not blowing directly on the buds. Like someone else already said, passive intake is the way to go!

I see you checking my journal go ahead look @ some good weed ...shit gets me stoned for 5-6 hours and those were from the bottom...I call them testers...a proper cure takes a good month for the best flavor aroma and smoothness... testers..and BTW where are YOUR plants...???????

Humidity also plays a role in plant resin production. Although some potent equatorial strains do seem to occur in high humidity areas, most high-test land races have evolved in drier areas, like Afghanistan. The aridity of the areas of Afghanistan where Indica strains have evolved is quite apparent by the trait of large dense flower clusters. This would only be an advantage in an area of low humidity, as flowers will mold in anything more.2

There are many examples of non-cannabis plants producing resins in order to protect themselves from drying out. The waxy coating on cacti and other succulent plants is a prime example.3 marijuana flowered in humid conditions will often have a longer stalk on the glandular trichome than the same strain grown in drier conditions. While this may give the appearance of being very crystallized, it will likely contain less THC than the same plant grown in a drier environment. Another problem with longer trichome stalks is that the gland heads are more likely to break off during handling.

The annual average rh in Afghanistan is 56.3%....actually MORE humid than that of the USA...Tuscon sure can be dry... but much more pronounced in the PM hours..... The mornings tend to be about 55-65% in the summer time....

On average there are 55 days per year with more than 0.1 mm (0.004 in) of rainfall (precipitation) or 5 days with a quantity of rain, sleet, snow etc. per month
