Quick question

Would construction grade work lights with 500 watts halogen bulbs be any good for the vegetation phase? My buddy has a couple laying around just wondering.

Sure they will but it will be hot. I wouldn't really try it. I would just snag a hps or a few good t5/8 bulbs would be better.

Not worried for heat I have a hanger for a grow room.

Those lights get REALLY HOT. make sure that shit is safe because you can easily burn your house down.

I just wanted to re-emphasize this point. We are not talking "oh no my grow space is 90 f!" we are talking you could easily start fires. Even if you are growing in a hangar, it would be very easy to scorch the hell out of the plants with those, even if you don't burn the place down.

500W halogen also equals roughly 150W HID in terms of efficiency. a waste of electricity imo
