hm that is interesting that you mention that, however i thought i handled the little babies fine..... for that particular crop it was on an aerogarden and i DIDNT germinate prior, i just stuck the seeds in and let her rip on veg with water/low nutes........ and i never actually really fucked with the fragile seedlings much..
however in the very beginning i was having heat issues and frequently had temps hovering around 90, now i've got that under control and my temp ranged from nightime low of 68 or so to high of like 82 - and i've heard higher temps could cause males...
also, when i went from 22/2 vegging light cycle to 12/12 i put a full day of darkness in between because i read it helps the plants show traits... however i dunno if that may have inadvertantly shocked them...
i've also read that higher quantities of nitrogen help induce fem traits, and this next round i shall be using a bit more N in my solution.
currently now i have some seeds germing in a paper towel inside a travel coffee mug and will be finalizing construction on my homemade aero system
they will be put into rockwool and then into the system under a 200w CFL for vegging... i will take cuttings of each seedling that sprouts and root those clones.... then those will go into new grow closet i'm building out of wood this time with a 400w HPS to flower.... now here is where i have some options... when i have my host plants growing under veg 200w and the new clones under 400w HPS and they show traits, how long should i be letting those tiny forced flowering female clones go before yanking them.... or should i treat them as legit plants and grow the fems to harvest....
as opposed to taking a new set of clones from the now all-female hosts and waiting for those to root...
space is a bit of a premium for me as i dont have the luxury of growing 40 plants and picking the best one to clone... i gotta work with sets of like 10 seeds cuz my flowering space is 2x3x6 and vegging is 2x3x4... i'd like to eventually get down to 1 or 2 of the most potent healthiest plants instead of 5 or 6 genetically diff ones (so they generally act the same with nutes etc)
thoughts?
