ok so i have been reading alot and have a composition book full of notes. i keep reading and reading and its just all confusing to me. i wanna go hydro cause its quickest way to grow, im planning on growing over the summer so id have about 2 months. i read that aero takes 6 weeks. its difficult but im ok with that, i like the hands on stuff. but before i start i have some questions

which is best and quickest?
ebb & flow
bubbleponics (really interested in this one but heard mixed reviews)
aero
drip
DWC

and what size net cups should i use for the veg and flowering stages?
i heard 4 in is good for veg and flowering
i just want max yeild for my
3 1/2 ft wide
2 feet in
and 4 feet high
space

please answers would help so much even a PM

(note: this will be my first grow but if it works good during the summer it will be my permanent system)

How much are you willing to spend, and how much time can you devote per day to the plants up keep? What are the avergae indoor temps where you are located. IE airconditioned, hot climate, cool climate. Is smell and noise a concern?

well spending is not really gonna be an issue, ive said up at least a good 500 that i can for sure spend. back home (FL) i can devote alot more time than where i currrently live (IL) since. but when i come back, im gonna be in school for sure till at least 5 on 2 days. back home is for sure a hot climate but im gonna grow in my closet in a grow box, i decided for that grow im gonna go soil but i would still like to know about this because i am most probably gonna go hydro when i get back. not sure if noise or smell is a problem yet but lets just say smell yes and noise not so much cause its gonna be in my room.

My cabinet is pretty quiet, All depends on the fans and pumps you choose.
My advice is look for a cabinet that suits your needs and you are comfortable cutting. You will have to install exhausts and intake fans so keep that in mind. If you have the room, a sterilite 4 shelf cabinet would make a nice flower chamber once light proofed. its plastic, so can be cut with a dremmel tool. Im using the sterilite two shelf cabinet in my grow. nice but a little small.

i strongly recommend you do a test grow with bag seed in soil to get a handle on how the plant grows without the complication of hydro or the cost of expensive seeds. that will let you dial in things like light, ventilation, smell control,etc. add hydro when you've got the basics down. if you're dead set on hydro the first time i would suggest using hempy buckets for their simplicity.

hey
if this is your first time growing id definately advise using soil and doing a test plant first before you have time and money riding on something you have never done before and that can go badly wrong. I used a random bagseed and got loads of experience from that one plant, messed up quite a few times, she got deficiencies and i potted her into a really small pot so now shes's rootbound but it didnt matter and i learned from it whereas the plants i hav growing now hav costs of electricity bills, fertiliser, seeds ext , if they got deficiencies (which can really easily happen) if would set me back a week to two weeks of slowed growth that i would still have to pay a bill for. Start with soil and move up to hydro when you have mastered a easier medium.
before you start consider these variables
humidity (40-60% for veg , 30-40% for flowering) , too high humidity will stifle the stomata and increase chances of mold but deter spider mites and other pests , (low humidity is easier to deal with)
Are you still growing in that 4ft height space because it will probably only be able to facilitate cfl's , a HPS will be far too hot unless you had loads of ventilationa and it was a air cooled hps.
temperature ; 70-79 is optimum unless you have enriched the air with c02 and then 85 is optimum, temps at night should drop no more than 15 as it can stress the plants.
ext ext.
btw you can use a ionizer (negative ion generator) to neautralise the smell, its one of the most eficient ways

post back and more qs

hope that helps

Just do it. The more you sit and think about it the more your gonna confuse yourself. Depending on when your leaving I would germinate your seeds now. Unless you clone your gonna have to wait to see how many females you have which is gonna determine if you should ddo a sog or just grow a few plants with lots of lst.4 ft is not that much room you got your plant root medium at least a foot lights are gonna take room your left with a small place for plants. You don't have time to top if you only got 2 months its going to take that long to flower and that's without any stress you might (probably will if its your first time) give the ladies.

Just go hydro if you want to its not all that bad. go with an ebb and flow since its the easiest in my opinion.

yea i was gonna go with soil for my first grow because its more natural and thats what everyone has said to do despite how im ok with doing hydro, ill do that when i get back if i do a good job and if i still want if not ill keep on with soil. thanks for the humidity stuff that helped cause i was wondering that. as far as the lights go i wanted to try LED dispite what everyone says cause i had the money for them and it wasn't to much.

LEDs:
14W = 75W MH/HPS
14W = 250W HPS

i was gonna get another one of the 250 ones for the flowering chamber

Veg chamber = 1 1/2 ft X 2 ft
flower = 3 1/2 ft X 2 ft
both again 4 ft high.

heres a rough draft of the set up

not to sure on the CO2 since its my first grow and dont know if i need it.
and where can i get a cheap ion thing?
