lots of people use hps for their whole grow - and no, using hps does not cause the leaves to turn yellow. most likely culprit is a nute deficiency, like too little nitrogen.

and yes, if you've lost most of your fan leaves the plant will grow much more slowly.

any ideas wat it could be if it was lack of nitrogen would it still grow yellow for a bit before it recovers and goes green again and also my clones are about 10-12 inches high is it ok to give them full strenth nuits yet?

ya if they have a full root system you should be alright, you might wanna start thinking about flowering soon before they get to tall

ya the yellowing could be nitrogen.
also make sure you're bulb isnt too close to your plants.
ive made the mistake a couple times of keeping the bulb too close and it burns my plants.

usually when i veg for 3-4 weeks i've gotten aroundan ounce per plant. if you're trying to get 2 ounces i would veg for 6-8 weeks.
just make sure you have enough room cuz they will get tall.

if my shade leafs are gone all ones on branches are still there how long will my plant take to heal

well if by "healing" you mean will they come back, most likely no. unless you veg forever.
but if you keep them vegging for 2 weeks and they are still thriving the chances of them undergoing further stress will be reduced.
