lol.. So I just read through this whole thing! I do have to agree with all of the nonsense "language" people have fallen into. Even in my texts, I don't use "text lingo"... And dudes, I send approximately 500 texts a day!!!!!!! So take that shit & shove it... I fully agree that people who take that route are just pure lazy. Especially when using a keyboard. Our words, our grammar, punctuation, and language as a whole was created for a purpose. And I do believe how you represent yourself does affect peoples' thoughts and opinions of you. People are stereotypical bastards in most cases. So therefore, if you represent yourself as a whole in a non-respectable mannor, that will reflect upon the people who surround you. So you looking like a fool-whether your pants are or are not on the ground-makes those surrounding you (in this case other members of riu/pot smokers) look at least semi-foolish as well.
Our government, schools, and society do NOT pay billions of dollars, and millions of hours trying to teach kids the proper ways of society, for it to all be thrown out the damn window. You're 23, or for others-whatever age you are, BE AN ADULT. You are now officially a role model for the younger society. I don't want my kid growing up to be some fuckin ruh-tard just because people like you have become lazy and can't manage to type 2-3 extra letters to form a correct word!

And I know that's how a lot of people "talk/type"... I'm not trying to rip on you, or pinpoint you out of millions of people. Reread what I wrote. I don't care if people use that sort of talk during text, I understand it can be must faster & easier. Heck, I even use wtf, idk, lol, even when using a keyboard sometimes. However, like I stated above.. Our country invests so much money and time into teaching our children proper grammar, etc. USE IT! I'm 24 years old... I just happen to be educated. Graduated high school and about to graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Software engineering and Human-computer interaction. I understand you probably don't write well but that's no excuse to shorten a four letter word when you have an entire qwerty keyboard in front of you. "txt speak" started because people were texting phone key pads with multiple letters per number, which is also why you can use predictive text but unfortunately for you, you have to know how to spell it to use it correctly.
I REALLY wish this board had negative rep.
One more thing... Modern browsers have built-in, real-time SPELL CHECK.

I think that the next generations will always find simpler solutions for theyr "problems", so maybe using smaller words and finding simpler ways to express themselves is just a consequence of the contemporanean man biggest problem: lack of time.
