Could I take 12-20 clones from a single established plant or should I take from at least 2 plants or more? I'd think taking from one good mother would be more consistent gene wise.

depends on how many clones you want, you will get a lot from a mother not so many from your young ones.

How big is your established mother plant? My mothers are about 3 foot high and I can take about 8-12 cuttings at a time... I also use a Metal Hallide 400watt to beef them up before taking cuttings especially if I need more than I mentioned earlier....

well all clones will be an exact genomic match from its donating mother. if you have a nice hardy mother then yes you can take several clones from her at a time as long as you give her plenty of time to recoup after before taking another round.
