Is it OK to use a 4in 165CFM fan to vent a 600w MH/HPS bulb + Carbon filter?

So here is my basic setup looks like - mine has ducting of course :)

I have not started using it as i am contemplating what fan to use on it. I have a hydrofarm 4in fan putting out 165 CFM. I would want want this to suck air from the xtrasun reflrector into a carbon filter then out the tent.

I plan on using the same setup, swapping to a 600 HPS system.

Essentially, will a 4in 165cfm fan work for all this? thanks

I use a 150 CFM blower for two hoods(1-400wt MH, 1-600wt HPS) with over 60 feet of ventilation tubing with a fresh air intake and exhaust, and I have no problems at all. Also running a carbon filter 150 CFM blower also that filters the entire room.

nice.

Which carbon filter you using? What diameter ducting are you using?

Thanks :)

I have to disagree with everyone else. I think you will need at least 200+ CFM to go through a filter and hood, and cool the 600 adequately. Don't skimp on cooling / air flow

I have the same hood!!! lol Im running it the same way but with a 400 hps. My ballast converts to 600 too so im kinda curious if it would work. I think you'll be fine..imo

I use a 4" active air 165cfm Inline fan and a aircooled 250w digital HPS with carbon filter and I can barely keep temps at 80F, but it is getting hot here...
