Hi,

I am a completely fresh grower, this will be my first :lol:
I am quite knowledgable about Mawwi growth and wouldnt class myself a complete beginner, however thats what i am.

I will state the main qualities - In order - i am going for and then if im wrong in my decisions you can assume its because i dont know any better.

1. HIGH YIELD (4+ oz per plant More if possible, or 24+ oz end crop)

2. Smell Must not be detected by passers by. (Love smelly Dank weed though)

3. Hydro Only. 6-8 Plants (Harvest every 2 months thanks to Hydro)

And ofcourse Potency but who doesnt want that.. So il leave it to You guys to recommend me a Potent High yeild strain.

The 1st one is the most important factor, e.g. I would like to buy aircooled parts or maybe double HPS lighting, it would be nice however if i still cant get 4oz+ per plant then theres no point. My budget is limited to the point where i meet my 1st factor. After that im open for additions, (AC'd lights, Ready made Hydro systems)

I am going to go through what decisions i have made so far, and instead of asking a bunch of questions i just want some feedback on the decisions ive made. I will of course state my reasons as to why i chose. Another reason i am posting this is because for most of the stuff i dont have the experience to know when buying certain parts, Is it worth it?


I have mainly researched Hydroponics which will be my method of choice. To be more specific, i will go with Drip irriagtion for my Veg, and Ebb Flow for Flowering.

I chose these for the reasons that:

A. Its cost effective, from what i have seen so far, i can go out and buy a plastic tray and some vinyl tubing and a 20 gal resovoir and make my own for cheap. (i wouldnt mind building my own really, but buying a ready made one is an option too, if its not much more expensive to building my own. (recommendations?)

B. I dont have to water 3 times a day, which is a big plus for me.

C. Saves time.

Im only going for Yield and ofcourse Potency so if i could of chose a better hydro system than Ebb flow or Drip system PLEASE let me know.

I only really have a broad knowledge on certain types not Everything as a whole.

Now Il give a brief explanation on my grow space.

I am not exactly certain of my dimensions as i dont have my measurements with me.
I will also mention that i am growing in what originally used to be a closet room inside a bedroom that was extended into a big wardrobe with sliding doors. (will add pics when i can.) which so far was going to be split into a Veg room + Flower room.
The 'wardrobe' is 5ft 9 long x 3ft 9 Depth / Width x 5ft 11 height.

However the left part is slightly less High, because the stairs are underneath it directly. Also i can access fresh air in my Loft to vent to very easily from inside.

The Sliding wardrobe door would be on the very front of this pic. I think the Height of the reduction is 1ft 5 on the extended part. So i thought id use the small side for Veg.

Moving on.

I have a budget of Around £550 - £650 and i have no clue to what i really could use in lighting, I read that lighting is almost direct translation to yield, which is Factor no.1 so this is important.

Open for suggestions.


Here are the conditions:

The flowering room will be enclosed so airflow will be important
I need enough light to Cover my area and get me 4+ oz per plant / 24+oz Whatever it takes basically..

I havnt fully figured where my mothers / clones / seedlings will go and what lighting is on them. Whatever gives the max yield is what i want.

Another Thing, i dont mean to make it look like i am trying to get Other stoners to do all my work, but i have tried finding out for myself on things like this, but its hard to find a single answer.

i would sugest a nutriculture nft 424 for flowring and another for veging there 1.2m x0.5m an hold 45 litres and you can also link up an expansion tank so you can leave 2 setups alone for upto 3 weeks.
as for lighting heat will be an issue, i personally use a 600w hps for flowering with cfl lights added when and where needed and a 400w mh for veg. you will want about a 6 inch fan and carbon filter to move enough hot air and to get rid of the strong smell
you will also need an intake fan from the loft for cool fresh air and an oscilating fan for air and plant movement in the grow room and the flower room.
youll need a ph meter to measure water acidity/alkaline and a ppm meter for measuring nutrients (parts per million)
if you wanna harvest every 2 months you wanna go with an indica dominant strain not a sativa as most sativa take around 12 weeks+ to flower the plant choice is more down to yourself to research a high yealdin plant that you like the thc and cbd content of a friend of mine is growing la woman an got 7 oz of 1 plant so that worth keeping in mind altho it was vegd for 5 weeks an 2 weeks as seedling plus 9 to flower but this is the time scale for most plants for you to be able to yield over 3 oz
if you pop your seeds then after 2 weeks veg for 4 weeks an then flower and do this every 4 weeks so you will have a harvest every 4 weeks once fully set up

ok so with this if i chose a nice strain i can get very high yields (4+ oz a plant):
600W HPS flowering
400W MH Veg + clones.

but take a look at my Front view link, the Veg room will be the left one. And as you can see there is slightly less height, its 3ft 9 deep (120cm)
any ideas for how to arrange my clones + mothers?
Also, i can imagine Nutrients play a big part in how big my plants grow?

oh, and does that mean i should go with Aircooled 600w HPS, costs about £200. And does it matter much if i get budget lighting?
and would i need Aircooled MH? the Veg room will be abit more open and more moving air.

i dont use air coold lights as long as you have good air inlet an extractor fans you shouldnt need them an as for budget lighting theres some really good budget stuff about there excellent and 4 0z is not too difficult if your prepared to veg for 5 or 6 weeks an use good nutes like the canna hydro range
i always try to keep my mother seperate aven a couple of large cardboard boxes taped together an madelight proof and with a 60w light will do, old wardrobes an cabinets are excellent for all stages

you may want rethink that .
if 4 oz per plant is a must, look it to bubble bucket or drip feed in to soil less medium . yea i have been looking at the DWC buckets quite alot recently, i am pretty sure thats what im going to be using. and you think i can only fit 3 bubble buckets in there? the whole main area will be room for plants only, the smaller are will be for my carbon filter and nutes etc. i woulda thought i could fit at least 6 bubble buckets.
