I have a 6" S&P fan that I just got, It is not going to work to loud. Can someone recommend the Quietest 6" fan out there. I don't really care of the cost I NEED STEALTH. I'm going to grow in a 2x4x6.5 hydrohut with a 400 hps light, not air cooled, would a 4" fan work, I need a carbon scrubber. Any help would be appreciate and any idea on how to get this setup more quiet. If I can't get it quietier I'm going to have to swith to flo's and I don't want to do that. I heard someone mention a muffler I can't find any info on that.

Thanks

The acoustic fans are not that quiet. I used to use an 8" with an 8" scrubber and 8" uninsulated ducting to a chimney. The humm was audible in the room below. The fan was mounted on beams that ran from wall to wall. Not the quietest option even with a speed controller slowing the velocity. The house had exposed polished wooden floor throughout the ground floor, do that could have been part of the problem.

Those squirrel cage blowers mounted in MDF (medium density fiberboard) boxes seem to run quietest in my opinion. I've used, and still use, a variety of fans/blowers for different applications.

What is an S&P fan? You might try a speed control to slow the fan speed (and noise) down.

S&P is the manufacturer, I think they make the TD-xx range of inline fans.. ~I have a few, they aren't the quietest, but much is down to their installation.. I used TD 160? and TD 500s but not as my main air removal device. Putting the whole fan and duct into a larger diameter insulated duct can eliminate some sounds transmission.
