when should i start flowering?

New to indoors i have no idea when to start flowering them? I'm use to nature deciding for me.
Another thing i'm not sure how old they are i did not really keep track because at first i was going to outdoor them. There about a month and a half old roughly.
Also the room there in is pretty cramped so they can't get a whole lot bigger because the HPS i got in there will burn any closer and it can only be raised another (roughly 24 inchs my tape has vanished so i can't tell exactly right now)

you can flower anytime you want. the longer you veg the bigger the plant and the higher the yield. but - you're out of space and they grow a lot in 12/12 so i'd start right away/

Length of veg doesn't matter. Expect your plants to double in height during flowering, start when half your space is used up.

thanks for reply ...i know some also need to be transplanted (some of the pots you can see slivers of roots showing near the drain holes) i was gonna do that soon but i was gonna veggie for a week or so after that to offset the shock before starting the flowering so i don't get hermies? any more input ?

Oh also i am lst'in them there not all lst'ed yet i've been doing them as needed to keep them all the same height.

Vegging is most important for a higher yield, faster flowering, more sets of flowers, potency, smell, etc. The list can go on and on. Always wait until the branches go uneven, that is a sign of maturity. If you have height issues, go ahead and top 2 nodes down, wait 2 more weeks then flower. By then I am guessing your branches will not be straight across and the bottoms will become tops. The more tops you have the less stretch you will get, compared to main branch stretch
