Depends. How long do you want to wait till you get bud? Do you have enough space for monster plants?

I always give myself twice the room, because during flowering your bud will get twice as tall as it was before.. I mean not exactly twice as tall each and every time, haha I am no mathematician, just saying that make sure that your space is big enough to accommodate the size of the plant. It will get bigger with flowering. You can always LST if you have limited space.

i def have enough space for them to grow at least 5 or 6 feet so im thinking maybe zt 3 or 4 feet put them in flowering?

In that case I would let it go 4 feet and LST if necessary

I mean it does also depend on the type of plants you wish to have whether indica, or sativa, or a hybrid. Remember that sativas tend to grow much taller, and indicas literally a bush. Just veg them until you are comfortable with the veg height then put them into flower, with LST during the veg phase if you wish. You can also top each different budsite during LST to just get bunch of colas and a bushy as hell plant.

mine is only 7 inches and im flowering. but its been topped and his filled out a bit.
ive seen plants 6 feet tall before too. depends on your strain, how fast it matures and how you grow it. give it a lot of space and a large area for roots and it will get huge. top it and maybe do lst as well and you are looking at a shorter bushier plant. you can get more top buds with topping and lst also.

i just learned that lesson a few days ago. my growth had kinda stopped, and i noticed that the soil had settled A LOT, like nearly 3 inches. was crazy. so i had to dig my plant up and put new dirt in which i packed down better. and the plant recovered from the root shock and shot up almost 2 inches in less than 2 days. when i dug it up the roots had sank with the soil and were bumped up against the bottom of the pot.

Depending on genetics you are looking at 3 times the height. Usually for an indica, people flower after one foot, and the plants will top out at 3-4 feet. I used to flower in a 6 foot height with indicas and used a scrog method. The top colas would be 3 1/2 feet from the ground giving me 12-24 inches off space between the plants and hood. I also used Bushmaster for height control and shape shifting.
