2nd marijuana growing atempt. Need pointers.

I've been trying to grow some marijuana outdoors.
My first atempt didn't work. I planted it to deep and it got flooded. I Reyes to transplant it but it just died.

But I'm trying again.

This time I have what I belive to be better seeds however I don't know the type because they came from my friends bag.

What has happend so far:
I got about 10 seeds from my friends bag, I then put them all in a damp paper towl, after about 4 days 3 of the seeds roots had gotten very large(probably about and inch or more) and some of them had already began to split into more roots. Anyway, I had to leave town so I planted those babies. I haven't been able to check on them yet as I am still out of town.

Growing plan:

Here's what I'm gonna do...

Wait for them to sprout.(they most likley already have)

Water them about 2 times a week. But it rains fairly often here.

Put some tin foil around them to get them more sunlight as they probably won't get as much as they should.

And I'm going to get some fertilizer if I can. But i won't use it very often.

I'll also of course cut any males out that I get and plant any more seeds I get to germinate. And I know this won't be very great weed but I'm hoping it will at least be regular.

Any tips on what I could do better or what I could do to maximize thc production?
Any more info I need to give? Just tell me... I'm very new to this.

I'll also be posting pictures and how everything is going with my plants on here...

Thanks nattyhead357, I love this forum. Cuz everyone links people who smoke weed with criminals and stuff. And ur offereing help to a complete stranger. Just saying. Steriotypes are bad. Haha. Anyway, Thanks.

well i learned from my dad and people on theis site, I just like to spread the wealth of knowledge around. Its a shame that it is linked to criminals... but that will change soon, untill then bongsmilie...:sleep: and repeat

haha, well I guess excluding marijuana it'd be people who steal and get in trouble with the law for things that aren't marijuana related. Like when my parents found out a smoked marijuana, my cousin stole $300 from my grandma and my parents blamed me, becuz they thought I was a bad person because I smoke marijuana. I fucking hate stereotypes.

I second this, its such bullshit that we legally can't grow, i more or less think of it as a hobby. This is my first year growing, i am not too worried about yields, but i just want a healthy crop that will end in a fun season. The only thing i really worry about is being caught, which is just dumb seeing as I am not harming or bothering anyone in the process. You think out of all the changes and advancements we have made in society we would have legalized marijuana, but i guess not :(

Forget the foil, it's not as reflective as you may think and really will only attract attention. Concentrate on getting them beyond the seedling stage before transplanting them. You can grow them from seed in rapid rooters or rockwool cubes for weeks. Then transplant into a plastic beer cup for a few weeks. This gets them past a delicate stage and can be done indoors with a single 23w CFL bulb and a small shelf in a closet somewhere. There won't be any odor!

Then when ready, prepare the spot outdoors by conditioning the soil. If it's crappy to begin with dig it up, replace it with something decent (not miracle grow). Water sparingly, twice a week may be way to often. Most likely it will be every couple of weeks until the plant is bigger. Use some organic ferts, go lightly, maybe half strength or weaker. This should help you get them started. Good luck!

id advise trying some auto's, easy to grow, easy to hide....

also try and get your plants into larger containers as soon as you can, this will make your seedlings more likely to be females ;)

Ok, I won't use foil. Any other ideas to get more light?
And idk what autos are but I doubt I can get my hands on any.
And I just grew them in the ground from the start after I used the paper towl method. Is this a problem?

autos = Auto flower, they flower quick, and when ready, they are short and easily hidden.

this will make your seedlings more likely to be females :wink:

where is your logic behind this? I've never heard of such a thing.

Once you get some pics, I think I could help a little better with maximizing light

'auto's' are auto flowering cannabis seeds, this basically means it will havest bud 8-10 weeks from seed no matter how much lights or nutes its had and they also can stand the harshest of climates, ideal for what ur doing, look em up man

growing depends on soil quality,drainage,climate so on, but in my experience you are best to start them off in small to medium size pots indoor then when few sets of leaves and a root system is established let it get used to being outdoors few hours at a time getin longer until u think it can stand the climate its in...

a friend of mine told me of this trick a few years ago, i dont know the science behind it but i know iv had 100% sucess rate (all females) over the last 2 years using this method.

seriously man try it! might just be me getting lucky lol

basically let the seed split (whichever method) then in to a small pot, as soon as theres a couple sets of leaves transfer to ur 'big' pot so it can get the root system going. thats it!

ive already done that with my grow now. But not for that. I just don't like transplanting them to often. Ill let you know my fem rate.

yh do let me kno how u get on... out of 8 i got 3 females so far, the rest are all maturing still, they are mixed strains so will all be on different time showing sex
