It's quite simple. Basically one flushes for 1-2 weeks prior to harvest to rid the soil of any chemicals, salts, etc. Flushing is basically giving your plant just pH balanced water, no nutes. The idea is to "flush" all the (for lack of a better word) toxins out in time for harvest. Depending on what size pots you are using, a couple gallons of water in a 2 hour period should be fed to the plant. Then wait until soil is dryer, and repeat.

Couple of different ways from what I can tell ya.... What I do is simple.. The last two weeks I lower the amount of nutes.. The 2nd last week I lower it to zero and the last week nothing but distilled water... never had a problem doing it this way.... There are a lot of different ways though.. This one works for me bro!

Cheers!

I do a flush at the end of veg. Again two weeks before harvest. I use 3-1 ph'd water at the end of veg and a 3-1 non ph'd water before harvest. Also I stop all nutes when I do the last flush.

wow 2 post without answering the question???

Flushing = pouring 3 times the container size of water thru your soil

if you are growing in a 1 gallon pot you would water with 3 gallons of water

best to do it in a sink or tub as most all of the water will run out

and you should see it clear up as you do it, starts out looking brownish (dirty) and goes to clear/clean

I flush every time I water as this more closely mimmicks mother nature (when it rains) and is also the basic principal that created hydro

One thing everyone left out.... always flush with carbs. I use sweet raw in hydro and unsulphured molasses in soil. It greatly improves tastes.

Good idea on the mimmicking mother nature on the rain.... However flushing everytime would be such a pain in the you know what for me.. I WILL though start to do it maybe once every 2wks or so.. I like the idea alot... Thanks for the post!
