Some people use a little bit of dish soap as a wetting agent. If you are foliar feeding it's always best to use a wetting agent. It breaks down the surface tension of water so that instead of beading up and just rolling off the leaf it actually spreads out and sticks to the leaf better. You only need a drop or 2.
