anyone know how big or how long you can veg/flower a plant in one these 6 inch blocks before you need another underneath, or before the plant gets rootbound?

i've been vegging some gdp for about a month damn near and i'm about to throw them in flower, but i was just wondering if the one block that they are in will be sufficient.
i usually throw them in 4 inch blocks then throw that on top of a 6 inch but i didnt have any when i got these clones home last time.

I am on my first grow and I am using the 6" rockwool block all the way to finish. My Sour Diesel is about 30" tall , and my Blackberry Kush is about 45" tall. Sweet , smelly buds everywhere.

I've been growing in rockwool for many years ,my suggestion to you would be to fill a container with bulk rockwool ,the kind that comes in a 40lb bag ,,and set your HUGO block on top of it let it root into atleast a few gallons of medium ..

or look at rockwool slabs ,they kick ass too ..just cut the plastic back and set the HUGO on top of that and let it grow !!!

you dont want to leave a plant bigger then 1ft by 1ft in a cube ,,not even a hugo, they were not designed for it( not for beginners anyhow) ..plants need root space to thrive

some pics and alot more peeps would help you out Im sure

there's really nothin to show pics of.
i seen the slabs before.

i have a box of hugos so id rather just stack those instead of getting any additional buckets or material.

only other thing I can add, whatever medium you want it rooted into should be done before it's flipped into the 12/12 flowering cycle

transplants after flowering isn't a good idea ..has the plant trying to do too much at once < in a simple sense

just the way I always had the best luck

you could stack those blocks yes ,but I've had weird wicking action from doing that ,one block retaining more water then the other ,and dont have enough experience stacking blocks to give you an educated answer

i use the slabs have done 6x6 &4x4 both have roots out the bottom in a few weeks i would think you could do s.o.g. in blocks only but i like the blocks on slabs for good root development they now make 8x8 big momma blocks too heres a couple pics

o its coo, its not flood and drain, its just drip...

in the past when ive stacked smaller blocks on top with the one dripper they tend to stay pretty soaked.

i guess i could always use a half block if i slice it down the middle horizontally.

thank you for the input tho.

well that pic is from a few months ago. those trees were already chopped.
i just didnt have the smaller blocks when i got the purple clones i have now so i put them in the hugos.
