Hey TLD, I'm really diggin' your grow and I can totally relate to that reflective piece you put together on the last page. The lack of drive in some people never ceases to amaze me. No matter what, the frustrations seem to go away when the sun comes up and shines through the clearing in the trees. I remember why I do it, and the feeling of satisfaction and contentment that washes over me just can't be matched. There's something to be said about the connection a man feels with the earth after a back breaking day in the field. Keep on keepin' on.

Thanks man.... Next year will be all about aesthetics..... this year is the ground work for the years to come ;)...... my dreams.....

There are tons of reflective etc pieces I have spread out all over my threads and the internet.... if you liked that, there are so many more.... a couple in this journal already, and the season is just getting started ;). Im a keepin on alright.... keepin on trimmin for the moment, eh, hehehe.....

More outdoor garden shots tomorrow...... a little indoor (pre outdoor) stuff coming soon too, :)........ Like Im thinking Grapefruit Desiel may be what I grow the most of next year..... not really sure though hehehe

i don't get the problem you see with your native soil. i would by a self propelled tiller and call it done.

i don't understand raised beds. could someone explain to me the benefits. i see people do vegetable gardens with them. i always thought it was so they didn't have to bend over.

i'm not hating, just trying to learn all i can.

To be honest, I don't know exactly why every one does it. I know that if I drilled holes in the sides it would aerate the soil better, and that if I was on a solid granite slab Than it would be a necessary method for proper drainage and having good soil composition without breaking my back, that they can increase drainage to some degree too. Its also extra vertical root space for less digging down into the ground. I noticed as I was doing the beds, that I dig into level soil, and I don't end up adding any additional local soil other than what I pulled out of the hole. So all the additional material in the beds is amendments. Im also hoping they will help me keep the roots warm over the winter with additional help from the greenhouse.

I was thinking as I transplanted vegetables earlier that it would be nice to get a tiller all around the garden. I don't have the money to rent one, or know anyone that has one I could borrow/rent for cheap. I am amending the soil like I am so I won't have to feed until into July (hopefully). The soil is beautiful, smells good, but is hard pact, the G & B helps break it up along with some perlite and DG for better drainage. Considering how big these plants already are, they are already taking in a good amount of nutrients, I just want to be able to meet their needs without the extra effort of feeding for a few weeks so I can focus a bit more on getting some other things done, :).

Those plants look like they are really comming around after the weather issues. You'r gonna have some trees for sure man. The pk harvest looks good too man, I am suprised how decent the pk turned out even witht he lack of attention. I can see you dreams comming true in the future, I love watching the progress. I remember last year watching the progression and it really has come a long way. You are building a dynasty. lol Nice work man.

2 each of the Red Budha and Grapefruit Desiel in pics 6 + 7 are going into raised beds, :).... know which ones are GD NEL? :)

One of them was twins when the seed popped.... still is :)

things look awsome man! my beds are not as raised as yours but i being in a wetter colder area seem to get a-a little longer growing season, i can put them out a couple weeks early and keep em a week longer. b- get them out of the wetter soil underneath till late spring when eveything dries and they get a good head start. c- i find it easier to control pests in my area but my grow is differant than you legal lucky guys, its easier for me to have them grouped in a few spots. man i envey you guys who can grow in style i have to work hard not dissing you everyone works hard.but id use a bobcat in my lawn and be drinking beer. rather than humping water and soil and dealing with critters and picking thorns from my skin at night.

anyway grow looks great best of luck.

Thanks bro. Its the strain man, PK is a keeper. Be wise not to ever let her go if you don't have to ;)..... I will get it better with the next set.... ;)..... just groundwork this year, settling into a new home.... should start dialing in this fall :D

people use raised beds for veggies for some of the same reasons especially to extend growing season. up north its common here. and its easier to import your own soil and keep it there when your soil is shit as mine is where i live. peace. good growing everyone.

I honestly believe that this is not really going to cause problems. It is most likely over-hyped and the reason it seems bad is because of media. Media has the ability to instill numerous emotions into the listener or viewer, because they are our only "reliable" source of news. Whats to keep them from making a story seem larger than average so they get higher ratings or more views? Sometimes its not intentional, it's just that we read it and it may seem crazy and we believe it because of that. And all of these natural disasters have been going on for millions and billions of years, the only reason stuff seems hectic now is because we have technology to figure more out about these disasters and the media spreads it like wildfire.

My bet is on the giant mirror that reflects the light back, and in no way will spin out of course and laser the earth. But if only we had robots like that :( One can dream i guess....
