There are also a bunch of the bigger leaves which are curling under, not really sure what that is caused by, but it can't be good. Thanks for the compliment though!

Yea man, top those babies! If you cut the very top out of them it will revert that energy that is running strait up the plant to the top to the lower branches and encourage them to catch up. It does however, take away the one big " COLA" off the top. I have grown many plants and many different strains, and topped one and leave the other alone, but the topped one ALWAYS yields more in the end. You want bushes, not trees.

Thanks for the info - now, where exactly do I need to cut? should I take off just the top leaves, or should I guy 2", 6", etc? Sorry I'm a nub, this is my first grow!

Well, I made the cuts. I have actually read Cervantes' book, but it left me with questions regarding where to cut, plus I wanted some verification from the masses.

Pictures will be posted once I see some bushing out!

I would top it about half way up but thats just me. It looks like it is reaching for the sky because of all the shade, but it looks good

Wow! I wish you had posted before I topped my plants - I'll just have to wait until next time they need cut before I can make some more clones of them, but I would imaging waiting until they show sex might not be a terrible idea either. Either way, here is a pic of them 5 days after nipping the top off:

Here are some more pics, this is 11 days after cutting the top to slow the up-growth and initiate lower, bushier growth.

Also, the last pic is of some clones which were taken from each plant in an attempt to root then sex them... 2 clones are not going to make it, and 1 other is also looking kind of sad...

They are in a wooden box with some CFLs, and the gel I have them in is just some random rooting gel I picked up at a local nursery. They have been in the gel for about 2 days, and already have little roots, which are visible through the side of the gel container.

hmmm i've never cloned before so i could be wrong but i dont think thats how its supposed to be done. i've always seen it done by dipping the cuttings in rooting gel and then putting them directly into soil, peat pellets, or some kind of hydro cloning system. i've never seen anyone just leave them in the gel.

i have no experiance with it though so idk.

Just dip them in the gel then plant in your grow medium. You shouldnt really dip a cutting into your tub of gel, it could infect the gel and spread that infection to all other cuttings you dip in that gel.. Always put a small amount on something else then dip your cutting.

Well, good to know for next time I suppose. The thing I bought came with 4 gel tubs that said you can grow about 3 plants in each before it's used up.

It seems to be working great... Additionally, my plants have FINALLY pre-flowered... all four of my big ones are gals!
