Here is my grow cab built after countless hours of reading RIU, much thanks to all that post their knowledge. I have a 400/600 switchable Nextgen Digital with S&P TD 150 inline pulling through a 6" carbon filter. I a m growing in 3 gal. pots; 1 J-1 started from seed - popped out of soil about 1 month ago, and 2 Bubba Kush clones, received 1.5 weeks ago fresh from an aero-cloner into soil. All have been in the cabinet 1.5 weeks.

The Bubba Kush had powdery mildew, and I had gnats from ?, so I've doused with neem and added a layer of dry perlite to keep gnats from laying eggs in moist soil. The 2 clones (in the back) are in 50/50 Orchard Supply Premium potting soil and perlite, while the J-1 from seed is in front and in 100% OSH soil. The OSH soil is supposed to feed 1 month, and I transplanted and moved into my cab 1.5 weeks ago, so I am only giving a little Superthrive and 1/4 strength nutes 1 time.

I think I am seeing female pre-flowers on the J-1 (closeup) anyone know? Also, should i think about topping? I am planning on putting them all into flower in about 3 weeks, and then taking J-1 clones to thin out a little. I am not taking cuttings off the Bubba b/c of the powdery mildew. I also have about 3 more feet to move my plants down, as my light is fixed, but height is not an issue except for the strength and penetration of my 400w. Thanks for any input.

Are you doing your both veg, and flowering in your grow cabinet? Cause I want to do something similar but I want a continuous process going where I can harvest every month or so. Such as I want it brokenn down into 3 chambers...one for germinating/seedlings/clones/mother the second veg and the third flowering. What do you think?

My cab is like 7 feet high, so I definitely have room. I am going to veg then switch my light to 12/12 and flower in the same big compartment. When I was building my cab I had planned for a hydro setup, drain system, or separate compartment for the bottom, but everything took so long, once the shell got finished I wanted to get growing.
A chambered cab is a great idea, you could take cuttings a few weeks into flower and have pants ready to start flowering as soon as one batch is ripe. The only problem is figuring out how to light and ventilate your chambers and keep the flower chamber light tight from the others. Good thing there is tons of great info here on RIU! One thread I can think of in particular, but not sure if it is o.k. to post links to others threads? Good luck and have fun.

The plants look good, you probably want to top them. You will get probably 24 inches of light penetration.

Good Luck :joint::peace:

I was thinking that the compartments would be built together so that holes for ventilation, light and darkness will be completely sealed off at the designated times. Such as if my germination needs no light no light will be able to penetrated the compartment. But underneath of my germination I would like to have my seedlings , and clones, and underneath that would where the mother would be housed, In a 4 ft area. Once them seedlings have sprouted I would begin to transplant those to veg. in a diffferent chamber(2)so there would be holes in the top of the chamber and the bottom for (fans/exhaust). But I would I be able to connect each chamber together like that?

Sealing off the ventilation holes with valves/dampers could get pretty tricky. Your best bet would be to plumb all compartments together so one exhaust fan draws out of all of them, or give each its own vent. If plumbing all together, you will need to incorporate light traps. Do a search for "cabinet grow" and you might get a few ideas.
