Those images are sickening, its ironic that a person can go to prison for killing a pet/animal in the US yet who is gonna go to prison for the hundreds of thousands if not millions of animals deaths from this man made disaster.

There is nothing ironic about it. Intentionally killing your animal is one thing, and animal dieing due to an accident is another.

MY 2 cents...

First, why the hell should we drill deep in the ocean if we (man and our machines) can not get down there to handle these situations? the USA is doing away with NASA soon, why not focus on deep water exploration, before the exploitation?

Second, things like this, or the spill from a Chinese tanker at the GBR (by no means as severe) are bound to happen as we the species learn how to properly adapt to our environment.

Third, IF we fail at adapting, and keep trying to make it adapt to us, the earth will handle it. Eventually we will see a "natural disaster" that will quite literally wipe the slate clean..... The earth was fine before we "took over" and it will be fine after it purges us, whenever that may be!


But yeah, this disaster sucks hard, my favorite fishing grounds are decimated, and yet another part of the ecosystem has been F***ED. Don't worry though, as I said the earth will eventually Purge us

The investigation is not complete and because nobody is reporting sabotage or a rogue nations missile i'll call it an accident. I can go my whole life pointing out unavoidable accidents but guess what, it's still an accident meaning it wasn't intended to happen. I don't play the semantics game.
