great crop. I have a few questions because Im trying to learn myself:

1) what size netting pots did you use?
2) what size bins did you use?
3) did you prune any of your clones at all? SCROG, SOG, Lolipop, FIM, Top etc... if not how come?
4) was crowding an issue at all?
5) did you use anything for smell control? How much did it smell? (did it smell throughout your house or did the smell just stay in your grow room?)
6) was the 1 week of veg just so the clones could take root? how come you vegged for such a short period of time?
7) is there a guide you can link describing how to make your aquamist system?

please advise

Hey Tanerlane, here's my replies to your Questions:

1) what size netting pots did you use? 3 inch
2) what size bins did you use? Ok, bins are not Rubbermaid, but the measurements of the bins are: Length-33.5" Width-19.5" Height-16".... I had 10gl in each.
3) did you prune any of your clones at all? SCROG, SOG, Lolipop, FIM, Top etc... if not how come? Before switching to 12/12 i pruned the lower branches for clear airflow. To prevent mold. BigBud is a leafy strain so it gets pretty dense.
4) was crowding an issue at all? Stem to stem are 4" apart. It is tight, but proper pruning during total process keeps it in check.
5) did you use anything for smell control? How much did it smell? (did it smell throughout your house or did the smell just stay in your grow room?) Growroom, is completely sealed, exhaust went to attic. I don't use any filters for smell. House is surrounded by land and it's windy most of the time so smell blends in with the outdoors. I would suggest a filter if in an urban area.
6) was the 1 week of veg just so the clones could take root? how come you vegged for such a short period of time? Clones root around 5-7 days(4" long or so), then into bins. Once roots start, they go fast. I veg till they reach 6" in height. Then go 12/12.
7) is there a guide you can link describing how to make your aquamist system? Sorry, I have no guide for the system, perhaps I should. It doesn't clog for entire run. But there are many DIYs you can find online.

Hope you're satisfied with my answers. Feel free to ask if you need to know more. Happy Growing!

thanks for the reply... few more Qs :)

1) can you please explain how you went about your pruning during the bloom phase?
2) how did you go about changing your solution throughout the bloom phase?
3) did you flush the plants before whacking them down? If so how long was the flush phase?
4) Since you exhaust to the attic doesnt it make much better sense to just grow in the attic in the 1st place? probably have more room up there to grow more plants for bigger crops and is even more concealed and less obtrusive than using an actual space on a level that you live actually live on.

fascinated how you stacked so many plants per bin. never seen it done like that before as most people ive seen go about 4-8 plants per bin.

1) can you please explain how you went about your pruning during the bloom phase? Pruning basically was removing all dead or half dead leaves to prevent them from developing mold and infecting the crop.
2) how did you go about changing your solution throughout the bloom phase? The only change I made was when I went from veg to flowering stage. Changed from a veg formula to a flowering formula. That meant dumping the veg solution, cleaning the bins and adding the flowering solution. After that, just kept adding nutes and water for the whole flowering run.
3) did you flush the plants before whacking them down? If so how long was the flush phase? Yes, I flushed for 14 days and then gave them 36 hours of dark time before chopping. It helps with flushing because during photosynthesis time (lights on) nutes are being brought up the roots to the plant. During dark time, nutes are sent back down to the roots. Read up about it.
4) Since you exhaust to the attic doesnt it make much better sense to just grow in the attic in the 1st place? probably have more room up there to grow more plants for bigger crops and is even more concealed and less obtrusive than using an actual space on a level that you live actually live on. Growing in an attic would need climate control because of the sun, and house heat rising up to your attic but some do it, and do it well. I have plenty space in my house so it works for me.

fascinated how you stacked so many plants per bin. never seen it done like that before as most people ive seen go about 4-8 plants per bin. Yeah, I've got 28 plants per bin. With TLC, it works perfectly.

Hope I answered all your questions. Happy growing.

thanks for answering....

just to clarify:
concerning solution maintenance during bloom cycle.. you would just ajar the lid and dump the appropriate nutes in... correct?

Also:
1) do you just blast it with 100% bloom nutes or do you ease into the bloom cycle with a mix between veg and bloom at first and then cycle into full on bloom nutes?
2) hypothetically speaking... if I used a very similar method to yours and I wanted to increase yield by increasing the plant size via longer veg time. At what plant size would crowding be just too unrealistic to be worth it? 8 inch, or 10 inch or 12 inch tall plants? or is 6 inch plants the absolute tallest youd grow them? (I understand plant size is mom and strain dependent... but I just want you to guesstimate for me...

thanks in advance :)

PS
dont be bothered by my questions... I ask cause im inspired by your setup and output. ;)

Also:
1) do you just blast it with 100% bloom nutes or do you ease into the bloom cycle with a mix between veg and bloom at first and then cycle into full on bloom nutes? When time comes to go 12/12, I dump the reservoirs and go straight to the bloom formula.

Thing is, I've tried growing them a to 12 inches before going to 12/12 but what happens is that because the top buds get so heavy, they start to fall over and main top colas were not necessarily bigger. Also it causes more foliage and less light penetrates the lower buds. Also, you have to remember that during flowering, your plants will double in height. My end height before chop is between 13-16 inches. 5-7" of that is just the top bud.

thanks in advance :)

Don't worry, it doesn't bother me. I'm happy to help.

If you notice in the pics I attached, the bin shot shows how half the plant is the main bud. The bud in the pic was 7" tall and 3" wide. Real heavy.

Thanks for the replies... youve been great help. Just on another note though... Have you thought about perhaps changing your HPS bulb to one of those new Ceramic Metal Hallides (not the same as Metal Hallide)? You can get 2 400 watters pretty cheap. From what I hear they are every bit as productive as a HPS during the bloom phase. However since they give a full range of spectrum (even blue light) they help the stems and leaves grow stronger. I mention this as you said your plants at 12 inches werent strong enough to hold up the colas. If you threw more blue light in there via ceramic metal hallide bloom light. the stems would be bigger

I don't know anything about the ceramic metal halides but I will read up on it. As far as the stems not tough enough, that only happened when I veged them out to 12 inches then went into 12/12. They ended up 22-25 inches tall. That is when I had top heavy problems. Ending height of 12-14 inches did not create any problems. Plus having a fan on them strengthens the stems as well.

Glad I could help out with your questions and wish you good luck with your grow plans.

Thats wet grams, but still a nice haul my man. Good luck to ya next round. BB isnt my kinda strain........i think its mainly a commercial strain. Alot of BB crosses go around with many names.

It was only a prediction. Final dry weight was 18.5oz = 0.86g per watt.

Being fucking impatient, I'm curious to know how much came from just one plant. I have a plant that's been vegging for nearly 3 weeks and would love to get at least an eighth off of her, and since I don't have any hookups here, the sooner the better.

Can you estimate what the final yield from one plant of yours might be?
