Whats good people. For those of you who wonder why im posting my indoor stuff in my outdoor thread is because I have kinda combined the 2 because im to busy to keep up with 2.
And it helps pass the boring wait of the outdoor season. So
enjoy
Today i got rained out again at work so i decided its high time to make some cool tubes for my 2 600 watters. As things have it this last month has been rainy and hot+muggy as a mother fucker. Ive only been able to run 1 600 on my indoor and the temps are still high even with an AC unit.
So i hunted around town at the local stores to try and find a glass tube big enough to house a 600 hps mogul and bulb. It took a few stops but I found a store that has high end high$$$$ lighting. The artistic lamps and the like. After some searching I found some 5" lantern type shades and to be honest they look exactly like the ones my bro Jigfresh uses in his vert setup.
So to make a long rant short heres some pics of the overhall.
These are my net pots for the hydro setup which ill be doing this winter. For now its works excellent as a mounting device for the 600 mogul socket. Just needs a bit of trimming.
Trimmed it down so it doesent block any light. The glass housings are just a lil shorter than the 600 bulb so these lil fuckers are the shizznit. Funny I was sitting wondering how the fuck i was going to mount a square socket base in a circular glass tube
Heres what i came up with.
Them lil green net pots which are really drain tile traps for landscaping purposes fit snuggly perfect into these lantern shades. Freaking cool man. And the beauty of it all is they make a passive aircone that will fit nicely into the 6" flex ducting.
A few trips to the harware store later.
I had to find some 6 to 5 reducer duct ends to fit the glass ends.
Figuring out how to mount the already chopped down vertizontal hood.
Had to remove a few standard mounting brackets. Then i drilled 4 holes in the ends and ran some tie wire around and out the top of the reflector and winded them bitches tight.
Top right is the inline 190cfm exhaust fan which exits the house Via the chimney stack through some complex hidden ductwork. I hate duct work. Both lights have been now ducted together with the inline fan drawing the hot air out. So far so good.
Ahh says the plants. Much better. And i can put the lights within 12" so fatter tighter buds cmon. Temps are in a stable range now. Good cost me about $50.00 and couldnt be happier.
Now for the inline carbon filter. Ive been running the same little 4" for months and in quit sure its spent. So i found at the pet store some super activated carbon. Damn that shits a bit pricey. I got 2 of these.
I dont have the luxury of a hydro shop so i drilled out the rivets popped the top dumped the shite pellets of coal out and repacked this lil bugger with new. Put it all back together. And wallah
Badda Bing. All the eaxhaust is carbon filtered and the heat from the lights, well its getting evicted from the grow room hahaaa
. All in all ill know better after a few days but already ive got a 10 degree drop in temps hovering round 80. Good deal them ladies are getting frosty already and they got a ways to go. I fead them some fresh H20 and smoked me a fatty with the girls and said goodnight. God i love growing. Peace 1BMM
