Hey guys, I've read a few different opinions on how much molasses I should add per gallon of water, so I figured I'd just ask and get a straight answer before I feed the plants. Also what do you guys do just dump x amount in and stir it up and im good to feed? My babies will be a month into flowering after tom.! I'm so excited... I hear buds fatten up an shit the most the last couple of weeks of flowering, is this true? Thanks yet again RIU!

Goodluck growing out there fellas!

i use 1tablespoon per gallon and it made my leaves stop yellowing completely, ive never read about 3tbs/gal but ive heard of some ppl using 2. id recommend using 1tbs/gal in addition to your regular nutes. make sure its unsulphered, and also mine is organic.

I have always used 2 tablsppons per gallon once a week from about 2 weeks old in soil. You start it early as the plant uses the sugars and carbs to help process food and produce more resin.I like to use a 1 gallin of warm water then add the needed amount of molasses then mix it til its well disolved will look like watered down coffee and kinda stinks. Then mix that with the room temp regular water stir and then water. It works the same with fllod tables but dont use it with aero buy sweet, sweet leaf or Humbodlt counties Gravity.

No once a week is plenty too much can cause mold and root rot in soil.Flood you add it when you add your weekly nutes and it runs til next res change

ohhh... cool. I was talking to this guy who is a horticulture profesor, and he said one of his student would use coke (the drinking kind) on his plants to get larger yeilds and cure deficeincies, said the only problem is that it cause root rot... I'd imagine its the same concept... kind of almost alittle bit?

Wait what? you use it in your aero system? I read that people had problemos with that

No not in aero setups in flood and drain setups. In aero setups I use sweet, sweet leaf or humboldt county gravity as it doesnt foam and clog like molasses but in flood and drain its not an issue

i use sweet too, it costs about $20 at the hydro store. it works really well too as a substitute for molasses - i use it during the last few weeks then flush with it too.

OK so let me get this straight, I add 1 tablespoon per gallon, WITH the nutes? I water with distilled water only, than nutes, and back and forth like that, so just add molasses in with nutes and continue my feeding schedule? Thanks!

yep, i use a big 5 gallon bucket and stir up a nice mixture of 5 different nutes including molasses. its good that you alternate with nutes/water, that will prevent them from locking up. start with 1tbs/gallon and work up to 2tbs/gallon, or just stay with 1 - thats what i do.

Somebody in another thread said you can use dr. pepper instead of molasses in hydro setups. Can anybody back this rumor? I'm thinking of using it in a deep water culture (bubbleponic-GRANDE air pump and bubble discs). I use H202 and flush weekly so mold shouldn't be an issue. Can I get away with molasses or would be looking at a hot tub full of shampoo in a few minutes?

Thanks for clearing that up for me,i never could remember how far i could push the molasses but i do remember it giving good results.

Question.

Do you know if the sucess rate with molasses is because of the massive potassium content or if it's because the natural sugars,or a combination of both.
