Very funny....

Maybe it's just me, but a lot right-wing people like hannity, limbaugh, savage etc. seem like really disgusting unlikeable people. It's not just their politics....I think they're just douchey assholes in life and their political views are just a reflection of that.

True, sometimes I wonder if that's really the majority of their audience along with a couple of angry geriatric bigots...

Yeah, I consider myself conservative, but I don't really care for them. Just modern day political clowns, but their programs do draw listeners.

mixed in with the posing, bombast and theatrics are facts that the liberal mainstream media will almost always completely ignore. anyone who takes the limbaughs of the world at face value is as much a fool as those idiots who so adore salon or the daily kos, but they will often lead you in a direction that the liberal establishment abhors. it is rather odd that they are so reviled by the present authority in a nation that is distinctly conservative in its views and that fact alone should show us just how far our government has veered from the path that the people themselves have chosen. these are informational entertainers, admitted arch conservatives and among the most listened to men in america. while the television has been largely become the domain of mouthpieces for the progressive agenda and the internet is a mishmash of every conceivable ideology, these men dominate the most egalitarian medium. aside from their all too strict adherence to conservative tenets, no matter how outdated, and their unrestrained self-promotion, their greatest flaw may be that they all seem to have a devotion to the republican party, blindly believing that the republican agenda is aimed at something other than socialism lite. while that may be better than the overbearing welfare state of democrats' wet dreams, it still lacks the vision that this country was born to try and fulfill.

I agree, they make some valid points, but when it comes down to it they are just trying to get ratings. This means they do some pretty bizarre things to get people to watch, and to get others to comment on them which in turn helps their popularity. I'm fine with that since it's getting them paid, you got to make that money somehow, but when it comes down to it they are just clowns in my book. They could make their points in a more intelligent way, but that would get boring for their followers.

I admit I only watch fox news because the blatant propaganda is so hillarious, many times it can be shockingly hillarious, especially since obama was elected. I have a hard time believing that many people actually take it seriously. I am usually able to predict the commentry that will be made or things that will be said in an interview aside from the 'shocking' stuff that they ocassionaly dish out which is so extreme that it is hard to believe my eyes/ears, it is just amazing to me how far they will go to twist a story - not just the anchors but even the guys who do the ticker at the bottom of the screen, it is like they get brownie points the more they can support rupport murdocs opinion.

Fox & Friends in particuliar I find the most hillarious - Sean Hannity and Bill whatshisface mainly just piss me off - that one guy with the grey hair that says he is libratarian I think he has some good points sometimes but he is a bit to relegious and extreme for my taste.

\the liberal mainstream media ....the liberal establishment ...in a nation that is distinctly conservative.... television has been largely become the domain of mouthpieces for the progressive agenda ....the overbearing welfare state of democrats' wet dreams.
your purple prose might actually be worth reading...if they had an ounce of truth in them:roll:

the liberal establishment/media? that must explain all the fox news, talk radio, and the rest...all closet liberals

a distinctly conservative nation? that must explain why the nation went for a black liberal last time, despite 10% not voting for him or voting against him based solely on skin color

overbearing welfare state as a democrat's wet dream? now you are just tripping.

in any case, i wanted to move away from making this a thread about how the talking heads on tv are so retarted, we can ALL agree on that. rather, i wanted to make this an indictment of certain talking heads and politicians that people on this forum often say they support/are fans of, to illustrate exactly what it is you support (if you support them) bongsmilie

let's start with the sexism of Glenn Beck, which i am not lacking in examples for:

Beck on Gloria Steinem: "You self-centered, self-righteous, socialist, out-of-control, dangerous, man-hating bitch." Responding to Gloria Steinem's statement that John McCain would be treated differently if he were a woman, Beck exclaimed: "You self-centered, self-righteous, socialist, out-of-control, dangerous, man-hating bitch. Shut your mouth. We might have bought into this crap in the 1960s because too many people were doing LSD. We're not on LSD anymore. You need to start making sense." [The Glenn Beck Program, 5/3/2008]

more to come!

"Just again, the example of the eloquence of Sen. Obama. He's health for
the mother. You know, that's been stretched by the pro-abortion
movement in America to mean almost anything. That's the extreme
pro-abortion position, quote, 'health.'"
John McCain, 2008.

apparently, advocating for abortion when the health of the mother is at stake is 'extreme'.

and this was not some weird 3rd party candidate in an obscure and unimportant district, this was the right's best and most viable candidate....kinda makes a statement on what is going on under that tent. a lot of bullshit.

I'll say again, Beck's comments about Steinem described her pretty well. I agree completely with his description of her. She is a self-centered, self-righteous, socialist, out-of-control, dangerous, man-hating bitch.

Obama was given the benefit of the doubt by the people who got him elected, he has trampled it, as is his right

But he will never be reelected ever for what he did to the centrists that won him his presidency

And the snob of coarse will pretend that he doesn't even want to run for a second term

The question is, will the country have the stomach to elect another limp wrested liberal into office
