keeping a plant root bound

i have a nice lil grow goin and i origionally put them all in plastic dixie cups and transplanted 3 into 8 inch pots...im a weeks into flowering and i was wondering if it would be safe to transplant the ones in the dixie cups into an 8 inch pot i got a pic wit this so you can check it out all im using is a 400w HPS bulb n ballast with organic soil (bat guano and perlite mix) and i supplement the lil girls with a foliar feeding of IONIC GROW solution ( 1 tsp per 2 liters...yes i know its diluted) once a week the roots are pretty big and im startin to smell em now (btw the pop bottle is a bundle of pot with like 9 plants in it for a secret mission to Town halls lawn hahahaha) :joint::-?

you sure coz a good friend of mine said that if theyre rootbound they will still grow... i just dont wanna shock em coz im on a tight schedule and cant afford to tack on an extra couple weeks

If you do a reasonably good job at transplanting they'll be fine. If you want to drastically reduce the transplant shock you can double pot them. Fill the 8" container 2/3rds of the way full. Cut the bottom inch or so off of your plastic cups. Stick the plant, with the cup remaining, on top of the soil in the new container. Fill the remainder of the container with dirt to hold the cup and plant in place. Your roots will grow into the new soil which will increase your yields.
