Hi , this is my first grow. I am attempting to grow shortstuff snowryder femenised seeds. germinated 5 seeds a week ago, 4/5 sprouted and 1 doesnt want to sprout.

here are the pics of them 10 days later, they are growing kind of slow, anyone have any advice ?

They are under 24w CFL's right now

i plan to turn on my 600w hid as soon as they root better, and i am going to put them in the net pots with hydroton around them and feed them iguana bloom nutes all the way through

right now i am watering with only ph 5.5 balanced water and some superthrive 1 drop added to 1 gallon water.

they are under 18/6 light and the lights are now 3-4 inches away from the top of the leaves. one of them the root has pushed through the bottom of the rockwool will post new pics tonight

ok i went ahead and turned the 600w on instead of using the CFL

temperature sky rocketed of course... so i decided to buy an AC before they run out at home depot , i got the LG for $299 and it was well worth it! no more worrying about temperatures, it turns off at temperature i set and has a timer also i can set it on at lights on, and off lights off

temperature went up all the way to 101 (prolly stressed the poor babies) first time it went up this high so maybe they didnt stress to much it was only for a few hours

my setup is 600w hortilux , cool tube w/ scrubber and 400cfm hydrofarm inline active fan exhaust pusing hot air out, intake is regular 6" fan pushing air

right now temperature is going down, currently 85 degrees

I'm growing snowryders right now as well. Try to get those temps down though. Ideally you want to be in the 72-78 range. Anything over 85 will stunt/slow growth. Good luck!

Some friendly advice, don't stop using your cfls. That 600w HID your using, uhmmm, your going to have to vent the heat and keep your gals kool, that might be a problem if you are growing in a tight space. That is why I use CFLs. I believe that more lumens will always outway more wattage. Don't get me wrong, HID is suppose to be the best, but I faired well on my first grow with using strickly CFLs. Starting my second grow in week or so. Good luck, keep us posted.
BTW a few photos for ya :hump:

ya man, i got a AC and cooltube with exuahst and everything so my temperatures stay steady 76-80 , but i did use CFLs when they were seedlings and when they were young sprouts, i just turned the HID on yesterday and had to buy AC cause my temp went up 101!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my grow, your plants look good dude ill check out your journal

ok i ran into a problem.. my iguana nute was old (bought it few years ago, was kept in garage very hot place)

so before i noticed that expiration date is 12 months for nuets and must be kept in good temperature room... i added the nutes to my tank for the first time

SMELLED LIKE ROTTEN FISH, AND THE NEXT DAY HAD FLOATING NASTY BROWN STUFF.... SMELLED MOLD/FISH

so i realized wtf i did.... not before i feed my plants 1 time with this... i flushed the rockwool with some regular ph 5.5 water + superthrive

i am currently cleaning out the tank, put some hydrogen peroxide and water and am gonna leave it running till tonight, which i will drain system, fill water again, run it a few more hours then drain again.

i will then fill it up with water and try again, i just bought some new nutes im going with:

micro, grow, bloom advanced nutrients 3 part
and i also grabbed some Sensizym

well thats all i will be using this time around.... my plants now have 2 true set of leaves (but are very small the plant itself) i think its due to the transplant shock, heat shock and light shock they went through.... :(

QUESTION PLEASE HELP:

so we will see how this turns out , do you guys think i should just start over with new seeds or continue and see? hmmmmmm or am i paranoid? the taproots started showing on 07/10/10 , put it in rockwool after that and it went from there.. so i guess these are only 1 week and a half old? is this correct?

That sucks dude, but I think they're ok. Give them some more time and see what happens, but they're still green; they're just off to a rough start. If they show any other signs then maybe it wouldn't be worth it, but since they're growing new growth (just not getting taller) then I'd say your fine....they'll shoot up within a few weeks with good care.
good luck man

Alright heres the update

another seed the sprout ended up dying, the plant cotyledon was yellow on this one from start so i guess thats why.

anyways 3 of them are growing! here are the pics, there are roots hanging from the bottom going into the tank already from all 3, some have 2-3 hanging but 1 long root so far for each at least hanging down

I feed then 2 times total (once a week) with low dose of nutes , micro, grow, bloom and sensizyme from AN
first dose: 10ml micro, grow bloom each and i did 60ml sensizyme (yes i know i did to much but oh well didnt damage them)
second dose: 30ml micro, grow, bloom (no sensizyme for this time)
third dose will be on 8/05/10, gonna empty tank, clean, fresh water, then nute 60ml micro, grow, bloom and 30ml sensizyme

here are the pics 8/01/10

updates

so the 2 clones one of them is Blueberry Kush and the other is called D cup don't know much about this one except for it its supposed to be bomb.

also, i am growing 2 new seeds! couldn't wait plus i have room

Jack Herer auto femenized and N. Lights auto femenised

08/05/10 - dropped seeds in distilled water that had 2 drops per gallon of superthrive
08/06/10 - next day less then 24 hrs later both seeds sank / put them in paper towel inside zip baggie and on top of my cable over a towel because the cable box gets hot. covered with black shirt.
08/07/10 - both had tails / transported to rockwool that was wet with same water. put inside plastic container , made small lil holes around container 2 in each side and 2 on top for air to pass
08/08/10 - Jack Herer sprouted! that was fast, and it has its first 2 true leaves very tiny growing / also snowryders started to bloom! smells so good! very sweet.

see pics, will post the pic of jack herer sprout on the next post gotta go take the picture

pics below of 3 original snowryders and then the 2 clones, and the 2 seeds these pics are a day old

Hey the pics where taken last night after i watered them, they look a bit droopy, but they already are perky again i will take new pics tonight, i fed them yesterday also and introduced some AN Big Bud into the feeding schedule for the first time and used since the beginning some AN micro, grow, bloom and sensizyme

they are currently on their week 3 , going on 4th week this thursday

im not even using the dripper anymore to feed cause the net pots get wet with the bubbles of the air stones

im just gonna use the dripper to flush out the rockwool when i flush .. i wont be using rockwool anymore tho, going to use only "sure to grow" which then i wont need to top drip feed at all
