Need advice on topping

i got a 2 1/2 foot tall plant at the moment that i never topped its been flowering for 12 days, its too late to top basically. I just started a strawberry cough seed and i want to know when will be the best time to top so i can have two or more large colas verses one

I fim/top my seedlings when they have 3 sets of leaves above their original baby leaves
In a couple of days time at the most i will be doing thsi to my own plants and i willgive a detailed descritpion with pics if you want to look my thread is in the grow journals section and its called pppxblueberryxsativa.

ok, do i just cut the top set of leaves off and let the new nodes be the highest to the light so they can grow the same height?

Ok well here is what i do if you need to know right now this will be the best way to show you.

Ok this is a seedling with 3 sets of leaves above the very first baby leaves.
Marked as 4,the new growth that comes from that 4th set i will trim 90% of the new tip away at a 45 degree angle,this will give you at the least 2 tops if not 3-4 or 5 or maybe even more this is called fimming.
If you just want 2 tops then just cut the whole 4th set off.

You can top it. Or you can just snap it in half (lst) as long as you dont break the stem completely off you will be fine. It will heal itself. You will get a knot. And you might end up with more buds. Not a big deal after flowering has begun. You are only 12 days in. Not 6 weeks. The plants basic function is to reproduce. It will keep on flowering no matter what. You can cut the plant in half and still get the same amount of bud because it has a good root system. Root system x light=bud

LST (low stress training) has nothing to do with "snapping" anything,
that would be high stress! LST is when you lightly bend your plant to
promote side branches to grow towards the light and become colas.

I would follow natmoon's advice. you can expect 3 or 4 new tops.
