A quick question about pistils

I was wondering if some of u would like to share your thoughts. If a plant is on 12/12 for the flowering cycle. Do the pistils start to poke out more likely during the dark period or the light period? I have been watching closely after 11 days of 12/12 with no signs of sex. I am hoping one of you has the answer I'm looking for.

Thanks in advance!

For me my plants always showed signs of sex before they flowered... And the pistols come out in the light idk about dark, never checked honestly. You sure it's not showing any signs of anything??? You should post some pics, look closely where the plant starts to branch out, that's usually where they show up first.

Well on the main stem at the 1st node split there is 1 single hair thats a little lower than the calyx (Spelling..lol) Idk if i spelled that right. It looks like theres gonna be 6 bud sites though. I started flowering at 9 inch..Now in 11 days it has grown 3 inches. I don't have a camera to get the good macro shots. I only have a cell phone camera. Would that be good enough?

Females get fine white hairs, from what you described, it does sound like it could be a female.
The two are very distinct;
Here is a female:

And a male:

I was worried about them not showing at about 10 days flowering, then all of a sudden those little curly bright coloured hairs started growing on all 9 of 'em and I was very happy :)

They are supposed to turn reddish brown when the buds are ready to harvest.

Turning brown early could be the first sign of a nute problems...either locked, not enough, or burn.
They will also turn brown if you touch them... or if a leaf is rubbing against them etc.
